so im only using pins 4 and 5 for ground, and 16 for power off the obd plug?
what about the other two wires, pins 9 and 2 in the obd port?

i just messaged someone about this but to make it clear my 04+ blue connector is pinned at 7,15,18,19,20
just an fyi into here...
ive flashed 04 pcm's and 05 with it never a problem.
only thing about mine is its fancier than the average offboard and that's mostly the case I used and the rectifier to prevent any reverse voltage possibilities (I like ****ing with people and connecting the + lead to the ground and say "oops"
maybe its only funny to me but I get a kick outta a quick joke
wait are you trying to power the offboard and pcm via the cars ALDL? or off the dhp's aldl?
you cannot use that power lead off the dhp to power the pcm and offboard. I guess you could use the cars connector for the power but **** that's an easy out with two alligator clips or a cig socket plug.
mine is setup to run via 12v alligator clips and aldso fits my 12v LED worklight chargers for when I only have 110v.
you will not be able to supply the offboard with power via your dhp or hpt. it must have external power. my aligators are setupo perfect to hitch to the 04 battery and lets the offboard sit above the pcm and I just pop the blue's and flash the summa***** and not even get into the car
serial and ground. its not wired for CAN. **** CAN
the power too but that's a given to power up the dhp/hpt box
The problem is located between the power supply, soldering iron and chair.
Scott..if you want we can talk tonight. I can send you pics and tell you exactly which wires connect to what.
FWIW though, I think you should multimeter your power and make sure you didn't grab the +5V by mistake.
