How much is to much?
I heard that anything over 20* is useless.
I'm running on 17* right now.
But i need to add more to trap higher.

Stock my PCM commands 26* I think.
I've got mine at 25* right now, you might be able to bump it up to 21 or 22, but scanning is really the only way to tell. If it knocks, then you'll have to back it back down.

NA engines have much higher WOT timing than the supercharged cars which are in the 15-17 deg of timing range stock.
- Brian you forgot to mention you have alky to run that timing!
If you can run 20 deg of timing that is great BUT if you are too rich then you will make more power typically by backing off the timing and leaning it out where it should be which is only known by having a wideband 02 sensor on the car. I run 20 deg of timing in my car and works fine. Some guys say that if you can run KR free with timing over 20 deg then you can drop one pulley size and drop your timing back to 16 and see what you have but will go a little faster. Honestly every car and combo will be different and want something else
I just picked up a wideband from a local member yesterday.
So hopefully i can adjust my a/f and i can try to run at least 18* with no kr on a 3.2.
If not, i guess i'll be going back to the 3.4 and adding more timing.
I was running 17* on WOT with blips of kr, but we were scaning with a pt.

Yeah, I've become so used to it that I keep forgetting to mention that. People should know I run Methanol by now!
GTP4, just because you might have to back down a pulley size isn't the end of the world. The name of the game is to make the best amount of power with the least amount of effort by the engine. You have to remember, the smaller of a pulley you run, the more horsepower it's going to take to turn the blower.
Make the best you can with what you've got.
Cool!
Hopefuly by this week i can tune a/f ratio.
How can i add timing thru the whole power band?![]()
I know i fell short on words.
We have used this feature before:
Tuning Your Timing Tables - OpenTuner Notebook
But if u add timing not using this method.
I if u add timing by doing it thru the add or drop down box.
Does it add timing thru the whole power band?
It adds it to all cells, unless specified by the options you select. I think you're using "power band" a little liberally. The power band is just a section of RPMs that you make the most power at during WOT.
Using the option you specified, you're going to get more timing though all load conditions, all RPMs.
You're welcome. Just use that carefully. Make sure you tell it to not add any timing to cells with a history of KR. Decrease timing in KR cells by 50% of the KR value.
