Hey guys :-) I'm very interested in learning how to tune cars, specifically my 2004 gtp

I'm very computer smart, and i know I can do it. What do I need to know to get started? Obviously a laptop which I have, and a obd2 to usb adapter. But from there I am a noob :-)

Go on HP Tuner Forums and read alot.

I'd suggest buying "Engine Management Advanced Tuning" book, its by a guy named Greg Banish. He knows his stuff and this book is a pretty good beginners books for understanding how the motor works and whats going on.

Then I would buy HP Tuners VCM Suite, its $500 bucks and comes with 8 credits.

Its not the hardest thing in the world to learn, but its going to take alot of time and trial and error. Slow and steady wins the race for this.

They should be a few write ups on here that kinda show you what the software looks like and some tips to help get you going.

I myself am a noob to this, seeing how I bought it about a month ago and just starting to get into it.

The main reason I want to learn is my car right now needs a tune, i have 42.5 injectors and a 3.2 pully I want to put on, and hopefully by the end of summer cam my car also, I want to do it in baby steps and learn as I go along, with that comes tuning everytime lol. Would be much better to be able to do it myself
