Dan...Just picked up my first GM ever. Always driven ford, from trucks, to mustang's, but here lately with Fords decision to go cheap, and my need for power, reliability, and gas concerns I decided to check out some GM cars, and before the day was over I was driving my 02 GTP sedan. Damn thing is fully loaded minus a sunroof...I still am excited about the HUD...not that I need it, but it's really cool. Well if anyone has some easy info for maintainence, improvements, common problems, or just facts about my car I should know I would really appreciate it. I look around online for info, but there is no better place to learn that from those who are in them every day. Thanks

Welcome to the community. I think you will find a wealth of information here to help get you started. Im kinda the opposite of you in a way. I have always been a GM fan, mainly Pontiac and I ventured away a few years ago over to Ford. I liked the vehicle, it was okay and was reliable but I missed Pontiac WAY too much, so here I am.

I still like the fords I've had and stand by what they use to build. It's just their new line of cars is like getting the cheap 5cent car over the HotWheels. Engine issues, plastic falls of...everything is plastic. And diesel excluded, their performance is being overrun by everyone else, and they don't even have mpg's to show for it. My 89 was a beast, and my mustang was clean, but no more.

Dont get me wrong, Im not knocking on Ford, they have their strong points like any other manufacturer, they just didnt line up with my particular tastes. But I think they have been way too distracted by other issues and involvements and have lost sight of what made them Ford and gave vehicles like the F150, Taurus, Mustang the appeal that they had.

Welcome to GPF!! I have had a HUD for the last decade. I don't know what I'll do when I have to get a car without one. I'm lost whenever I drive my wife's car. I love HUD...there I said it. LOL.
