2wk ago, my friend ordered a PCM from ZZP for his 01 GTP, we put it in, let it idle for 5 min to catch on to things, took it out, drove it mid throttle down the road, turned onto another. this is where he went WOT. it went to 6200 instead of 6k and hit rev limiter, sounded like a huge 50mm BOV and cut out on us. we drove it some more and on highway. still did the 1st gear thing but everything else was fine until we were on our way back and it cut out at 70mph. we had to pull over and crank it repeatably until it started which oddly started with the pedal on the floor. also noticed it was dropping OD in at 40, which my stock regal doesn't until 45 or more on a hill. he gave it another day and it died on him coming home from work so he switched it out for the stocker.

He sent it back with a list of his mods and wheels/tire sizes just in case they could use them. when he got the new one we put it in on a saturday, took it way out to some straighter back roads and it didn't kick down above 40mph and it hit 6200 again, and tried to cut out. Still everything else was right. sunday we went to the P&P in cincy for axles i need for a project car. on the way to his bank he got on it in a 55 zone, it hit limiter like before and tried to cut out. a mile down the road it stalled in the middle of turning at a light. so we switched it out in the lot.

Contacted ZZP about this one needing to be return for good and that he wanted some kind of Return since both PCM's were bad. (not going to say the full name) T.T. of ZZP said they did not give any type of returns on electrical items and wanted his Stock PCM to check his factory readouts to solve it. told him his PCM couldn't be trusted while he gave up his factory PCM since its his only car and keep having it die. so now from this last reply we get that he thinks were just lying(or the cars fault) to return it.

Mods are 3.4in, pacesetter headers, SLP powerflo exh., 180* stat, aftermarket plugs/wires, fan switches from ZZP,MM, Thrasher intake w/ K&N, 18" wheels with 245/45 tires rear 02 delete from ZZP.

i had a similar issue, call the up and curse and yell like a madman. got me a free pcm, free brake lines, and my short stack cooler repaired for nothing. my car was down for 3 weeks because of their bull instructions and crappy one word emails.

Tell Zooomer your going to kick his ass if he does'nt make it right. Rofl

But yeah, ZZP PCM's are horrible. Just try and get a refund on it so that you can go get one from another company.

Okay, I'm regalgs98's friend that is having the PCM issue. And I do plan on calling ZZP and talking to Zoomer myself. The guy that I was e-mailing seems think that I'm a liar and that my car is the real problem, yet it runs fine with the PCM from factory. Once I get this worked out I plan on going to Intense-racing in the future. I was wondering if there has been anykind of problem out of their PCMs? And if so, what?

A local guy to me had this exact problem with ZZP after 3 PCMs failed. He threatened to contact the Missouri attorney General, and then I think it was Scott? got really crappy with him. This customer service is why I preach against ZZP's PCMs, and will continue to do so. He did eventually get a full refund, but they kept his stock one which I think is BS.

they've got some good stuff to offer, but PCMs are NOT one of them.

    x2

ZZP's customer service is some of the worst. I remember back when I was ordering my first intercooler I ended up getting in a argument with Zooomer on the phone about it.

I agree. Though I didn't have any customer service issues, I probably would have if I'd pressed it. I just went out and got a tuner. ZZP has yet to acknowledge that 04+ w-bodies require different trans programming and theirs was killing my 04+ tranny with slippage followed by extremely harsh shifts. I can't imagine trying to tell them to fix it.

I've since gotten the performance out of my tranny I want with my tuner and the help of someone extremely knowledgeable. You know who you are.

Thank you! I was thinking about buying a pcm from zzp for my 98 gtp, but after reading all this I will be looking elsewhere.
Can anybody make suggestions where to get a good pcm?

I have few mods so far,
zzp o2 Emulator, cut off the cat, and resonator, front and rear
Lateral Arms, and Trailing Arms from exotic performance plus, and 18's with 245/45's.

    OH OH!! THAT WAS ME

I got called a liar too my Erik...I think it was...this has been almost 2 years so it is kinda vague. I have all the emails I'd like to track em down and post em here. They are pretty sh**ty. Since they wouldn't refund me for the faulty PCM (which, like Brian said...happened actually 4 times including the last one which was the one I kept that I was told to send back) I did tell them that I was going to contact the Missouri Attorney General's Office...I had a e-mail not 5 minutes later telling me that I had the audacity to threaten them.

    I replied by...

    "Erik,

The message is ready to be sent and I'd like my refund. Last Chance.

    Nick"

About a minute later I got a reply saying my check was in the mail. I got the ENTIRE amount back too...all $193.xx

Then...a couple weeks later my car blew up LOL
