A/C has a leak. High Pressure is ~300PSI, though the system will not hold R-134a and low side pressure is 0 PSI. Should I suspect a crack in the accumulator? I heard a whistling sound from that area when I attempted to fill the system. Car is 3100 V6 2000 SE.

EDIT: If I move the hose right where it connects to the accumulator, it varies the whistling sound. Don't know if that helps.

I suspect either the accumulator or the Hose line into it from the compressor.

It's been over 90 this week with 90% humidity and I am sweating to death.

    Thanks,
    StreetChariot

The air in my 2000GP is not working. It was recharged last year and its empty again. What are typical areas that fail on these cars?

Some of the R12 refill kits (replaces 134a) have a dye in them that you can see with a black light. That might let you know where the leak is.

thats what they are going to do. I just hope its not the exchanger(?) behind the dash board... I hear they are really expensive to replace.

So I am told the A/C compressor and Dryer need to be replaced on the car. Thoughts? Total cost of $592.00... Can anyone recommend replacements?
