I know someone who refuses to drive a VW Bug because it was designed for Hitler, supposedly it was what he drove.

Its funny how people always say he was such a bad guy, but you know what there are a lot of things that we still use today that were invented in Nazi Germany that he was involved with.

I'm totally anti-VW, especially after working on my cousin's A4 (that he sold because it was a PITA to work on), but all this crap makes me want to buy a TDI VW and make it roll coal just to piss off the hippies.

I got my jetta because 1 I fit in it, im 6'2 and I don't fit in a corolla or a Sentra very well. I wont buy another ford for a while after owning a fusion, thing was a money pit.
The cruze has issues with the turbo engines im told, and well dodge is dodge. That left the Hyundai, kia and jetta. The jetta drives nice, gets 37 mpg, is turbo, can be tuned for 240 hp and a 14 second 1/4th. stock its faster than a GTP 60+. its a good car for now. (oh and only sub 20k car with heated seats. That said, VW has quality issues, it rattles, and this issue with the diesel emissions is going to make them even worse about denying warranty claims, to try to save money.
