After transferring schools and having to sell the gp and not having my cr-v at school yet, I've been super bored this semester so far and its been especially bad weekends. I still wanted to feel like I was working on something so I picked this thing up about a week ago straight from japan and I was wondering if anyone else on here was into modeling? Its the first one I've done in a long time so i don't know how it'll turn out. It'd be cool to see you guys' models or maybe get some more people into them

I use to do that and I would paint them just like you would a real car. It was great fun wish you the best of luck on your build. Are you going to use a small amout of glue

Yeah, I definitely don't want to glob on the glue. And I got some model specific paint that was in a can for the body, but I've heard some people say they use the car paint that autozone carries. I thought it would be pretty cool if I could get a factory color

Been a while since I have done one. All of mine have been painted with a brush except for one that I had an air brush kit for that didnt turn out too great. I'll have to post up some pictures....also I started a challenger last year that I still need to finsh (painted some parts with a brush and started wet sanding it but never got any further).

Use auto paint with some plastic adhesive promter. You could go all out with primer and clear but gloss works just as well but dust will be your bigest enemy. Some let there models be free rollers meaning you can roll them. Short story I. Built a 1971 trans am white with the blue strip running down the middle me and my dad had it perfect. We painted the engine pontic blue and did up the interior with the proper blue it was a gem to behold untell my cat wamted on the shelf and destroyed it when it smashed all on the ground. Think thats why I love Pontiac's.

wow that sucks man, I'm gonna keep mine far out of reach of anything that could smash it and I don't have to worry about a cat either haha. I managed to get this far with having a snow day at school. The interior paint came out kind of ugly but its alright. I'm pretty impressed with this model that its turning out to look pretty much exactly like the picture on the box. The body just snaps on so I just put it on for show right now.

I think you just started me back doing models again. Wish you could still go to walmart and buy them but they dont carry them anymore. I think there is a model store in town though.

I ordered this one from amazon for $30 with free shipping. I also forgot until the other day that Michaels has a decent selection of models for sale but definitely not the amount a model store would have

I still have a bunch of tamiya kits that I bought from a going out of business sale at a hobby town. It was definitely my winter hobby.
