so i've had my car now since the fall of 2009. it's been paid off for quite a while already as well.

not only am i hoping to get into something nicer and more enjoyable, but also bigger because as some of you already know i've got a little baby kid child on the way (ETA 3/3/14!).

so here's some stipulations that i've setup for myself so far:

    - $20k or less
    - "well" under 100k miles (70-80k miles max if possible)
    - in order to even be considered for a loan, because i don't have $20k laying around it's probably gotta be at least an 06 or newer, 07 per the "rules"..
    - must be stick, 100% non-negotiable. i don't care if it's a DSG, paddle shifters, anything....STICK
    - needs to be a sedan. i need a back seat for kiddo.
    - leaning towards AWD/RWD cars, but if i seriously fall in love with a FWD car then so be it
    - NOT BLACK...any other color (don't like red all that much either..)
    - if you suggest a diesel, hybrid, alternative fuel car, or a chrysler/dodge/kia/hyundai....i'll just go ahead and ban you
    - don't want another subaru, seriously. and if it doesn't have a boosted 4/6 cylinder, it should probably be 8 cylinder unless it's got some good potential..

this will be a car that i am hoping that will keep me satisfied on a daily basis as far as entertainment value. meaning it can't be a slow, bathtub on wheels type of car. it needs to have an aftermarket. if i can't find some simple bolt on stuff, including some good suspension upgrades, then i don't care for it. i know it will be a daily, but i also know there's about 0% chance that i'll leave it stock. we all know how i seem to function.

cars i've been interested in recently...

    - V1 (06-07 specifically, 04-05 if it's the right one) CTS-V's
    - G35/37 sedans
    - turbo regal, but in order to get it stick it'd have to be a GS (i think?) and they're probably out of my budget
    - B7 S4 maybe, but i feel like maintenance is gonna be killer on this one..

so, i'm open to suggestions for other cars here. i am pretty biased on what i do and do not like, but i always like to hear FACTS about all the cars i'm not really familiar with. i don't really want to get this thread full of fanboy opinions, this isn't the place for it.

    so...go!

G8 GT and the V1 CTS-V are price comparable, and the CTS-V is way more car.

and the G8 GXP is stick, which i'd want, but god are they expensive still. so....no G8. sorry.

thanks! i'm looking forwards to the little one coming along and breaking my cold, asshole exterior. hah.

nope. only car on my short list i've actually been in is the G35.

i'll hopefully find one locally here to drive of the ones i come down to in the end and go from there. then when i decide to buy i want to open up my search area so i find the right one.

Of the ones you listed CTS-V 1st gen wins by a land slide for cheap parts (engine aftermarket wise and cost less than import parts period.)

Looked for any G8s if they can be had for under 20k?
Edit G8 manuals are rare if its not a GXP though they do exist Id kill for a white one.

if it was the right car, like i couldn't pass it down because it was a ****ing rockstar car, i'd probably MAX at $25k.

an M5 i'm semi interested in, but as a whole the BMW doesn't really seem "me". i don't know why.

The manual requirement is going to severely limit options..........

Yeah, same here. I've never been a fan of their interiors...not the quality, just the design. Have you considered a TL?

FWD, meh. they're attractive cars, but out of all the options it wouldn't even come up on the list. (the TL)

and yeah, sedan needed. i don't want to work at taking the kid in/out of the car that much. it's already going to be work enough.

My kid's car seat fit in the back of my mustang just fine....as long as he sat behind my wife.
