you guys should of heard this one drag car that someone kept bringing to a car show. When he started it up you could hear it across the show (alameda county fairgrounds). He would try and drive it like a "normal" car and got pulled over about 5 times for it been way way to loud. the last time I think they took his car away for just having no exhaust system on it.
Laws. Who needs 'em, right?
Not really, Florida hasnt had it but they made a prejudice remark when trying to submit it, i dont think cali has one either or any really major places. Here in Cleveland is the worst. They use it as a excuse to pull you over and search your car. The last time I payed $250 before that was $350. The lowest was $150 it was in Cleveland Heights and he heard my music in a car garage.....on a street where its activity and clubs louder than me. They dont have anything better to do. Cleveland heights is the lowest though they charge $25 plus court costs. Clevelands Court costs is $140 alone for everything
Cop Logic: If they stand out, they're doing something illegal.
IIRC I believe FL has one, one of these days I'll look it up. Using it as a excuse to search your car is nothing new cops have been doing that for decades now. General advice is not to have anything in your car that's illegal and problem solved no more worries. The ones that seem to make a big deal about it 9/10 tend to have something on them that they shouldn't. Hell if you know you have something on you that you don't want to be caught with don't draw more attention to yourself and lessen the chance of getting pulled over.
Common courtesy tells you to turn down your music after let's say 8-9pm or anytime when your in a residential neighborhood.
It's asshole of a move to blair your music and inconvenience others that may be stuck driving around you.. There are still elderly people that still drive as well as parents that have kids that don't deserve to be inconvenience by some asshole who wants to hear his trunk rattle.
Perfect example I witnessed the other day while filling up is some asshole younger guy thought it be "cool" to show out and pull into the gas station booming his crap. Well the father a few pumps down from him didn't take the gesture to well when his 2 younger kids woke up. The younger guy couldn't fathom why the guy was going off on him to save his life and almost caught ass beating because of it. This was around 11pm or so. I laughed and watch thinking how I acted when I was younger.
The whole club thing well generally a club isn't to close to a residential area so I could see how that would pan out.. Plus it's more or less a thurs-sun thing not a everyday thing. In a garage on the other hand well I'm sure the neighbors or anyone nearby can hear it as well. Sure it might not bother some of them but I'm sure there's someone that's trying to sleep.
Getting ticketed for it is usually a big red flag to chill out and stop doing what your doing. You get pulled over for speeding for example.. Do you continue to speed until you eventually get ticketed several more times or do you chill out? Same thing goes for noise ordinance. You either man up and pay the fine and keep on trucking or you fix whatever the issue may be and live on.
Exactly, took getting a few for me to stop doing it after I got tired of giving up my hard earned money so easily just to get somewhere a few minutes faster then defeating the whole purpose when I'm stopped for several minutes on the side of the road.
F*ck that SR-22 stuff, they tried to suspend my license for 3 years because my other Prix wasn't insured but my primary was and I got a ticket for showing a suspended license like wtf. I handled the situation by showing proof that my uninsured vehicle was not movable for months. I can't believe they would go that low to do a "Random" insurance check. I know damn well they checked my insurance because of a BS ticket I had got and they said I didnt have on my belt (I did clearly and he said I lied) and I didnt have insurance (yet I showed him the card and I had the same insurance since I had my license in 2007)
Oh yeah this city im in usually sleeps at about 11PM so I tend to keep it low near 10ish anyway and when the cops pull me over for "no reason" they tend to give me a ticket for stupid sh*t. I'm kinda used to it but its costing me money because I want to be downtown at 1 AM to meet up with somebody.
