Found this a little over 400. 6 is too much.
97-03 Pontiac Grand Prix Fiberglass Hoods from Extreme_Dimensions at Andy's Auto Sport
Still too much money to spend on something so low quality.
While were discussin it, how can you tell who made the hood you have?
I have an F1 hood that a friend found in an ad in the paper... I love it but havn't found a similar F1 hood to it...

If your aviator is your hood then you HAVE the MPD F1 hood. The difference is the MPD has rounder scoops and grille openings. Also, the MPD uses a stock metal hood frame (so I heard), The Ram Air HO from ASCD has square scoops, there completely different side by side. Also the Ram Air HO is fully fiberglass. I have the Ram Air HO from ASCD...

I'm pretty sure mine is full fiberglass and has the same construction as yours but mine is round on the front and yours is square? This is why I havn't found out where my hood was made but now I'm thinking its an early version of ASCD's F1???

I'd say it is more likely a PFYC F1 hood from one time or another. All of the ASCD hoods (GTX, 2 SDs) I've owned had the name/logo printed on the underside ram air duct in raised lettering. I could be wrong, but that's my guess.
Also, it is possible to be an old MPD, Inc. F1 hood. From what I was told the early ones had the nicer looking smooth underside instead of the open stock skeleton. Not positive though, as I have never seen one of the real early undersides in person.
I agree. 600 is still too much money to shell out for a hood.
I recently had an idea for customizing my stock hood. If I play my cards right, with parts and labor it should cost me less than the PFYC Inferno hood.
I'm keeping the idea a secret until I make sure I have my hands on the necessary materials, and know for sure that it'll work. After that, I'll clue everybody in.![]()
I got mine for $300 when I hit a deer, then insurance reimbursed me the cost of the parts new since I supplied the hood and I got over $450 back. State Farm FTW!
Since an idea similar to mine was brought up in another post, I've decided to let the cat out of the bag. Look at the fourth post in this thread.... http://www.grandprixforums.net/f14/j...good-8163.html
