Yeah, I hear ya. thanks for the info. Especially when I do the convert. Never would have thought of pulling the knock sensors. I was just going to run some flush and then straight water through a couple of times. I like your way better.

What are the procedures for purging the system of air? I see the bleeder on top of the thermostat housing, Just crack the bleeder while car is running and wait until liquid comes out?

i deff cant wait to flush mine. I bought a bottle of Royal Purple Purple Ice Radiator Additive. to add to it as well. figured i'd do it for the hell of it, cant hurt. And I would also like to know if there is some method of purging with air. Could you use a compressor or something?

Yes after your car is warmed up, crack the bleeder on top of the t housing until fluid comes out. You may have to do this process a couple of time to get all the air out.

thanks for the reply. I have taken many of the suggestions from this site. Has anyone ever used the # as100 heavy duty cleaner for their flush? I saw it somewhere in one of the links on this site but cannot find the link again. I know that this is an older heavy duty acid based cleaner. Will it harm anything in my system?

I got my coolant flushed towards the end of last spring. There was brown crap covering the inside of my coolant bottle pretty good but that was about it. There was none on the bottom of my cap and the coolant only had a slight brown tint to it. My friend flushed it for me and told me it took liek 30min for all the air to bleed out (?).

I was planning on getting my system flushed again this spring. I don't want the dex in there so I dont have to worry about it but i dont want to have to flush my car like 4 times just to get it all out.

Can I just get my car flushed once and add the Amsoil coolant in there and be ok?

Is there a better sealing cap we can get for the coolant bottle?

What you could do, I suppose, Ive never done it so take it for what its worth. But what you could do is take a couple gallons of Amsoil coolant to a shop (or I suppose you could ask first) and see if they will flush the system using that instead of what they would use and have it professionally flushed. That way they could run water through the system with their machine until all the old coolant is out and then add in the Amsoil coolant at the proper mixture.

I dont know if there is a better sealing cap, I do know that if you go get a new radiator cap from the dealer they are of a different style or design now. If its improved or not I cant say, its just different than the one the car came with from the factory, at least on mine anyway.
