Got a call from a co-worker about an 08 Imp w/ the 3.5L. Said that the owner had just got off the highway and the low oil pressure light came on. They shut it down and parked it. This Imp has an existing coolant leak as well as illustrated by the red arrow in the pic I took below...

I know that the 3.5L is basically a 3.4L with a larger bore and they can have issues w/ head gaskets, head bolts and the LIM. I have not laid hands on it yet so I can't tell what else may be happening. The owner noted that there is now a "tick" in the motor as well. No, I haven't heard it yet, have not checked the oil for coolant, etc... Am heading over this Sunday to try and diagnose the issue(s). Just looking for some possible insight on this motor and any common things I should look for. The water pump was replaced about 5K ago and all was well until I noticed this leak.

I'm half tempted to have the system pressure tested and have the coolant checked for exhaust gases. May pull some plugs depending on what I find and see what they look like. Will also check the pressure sender for leaks as I know the 3800 likes to leak at the sender itself. Kid owes too much on it to junk it/sell it so I have to get it running again. Hoping what I hear isn't rod knock...
