If you think I don't know what I'm talking about, you are wrong, whats with the harshness?

I know for a FACT this bill CANNOT be approved (without some changes) by the federal judiciary because it violates the fifth and sixth amendments of the US CONSTITUTION.

Yes the military has the right to imprison anyone, but not without speedy trial by jury, plus according to the article, the US government must first declare the person a terrorist!

When enlisting in any armed forces in the US, personnel swear by oath to defend the right of the constitution.

This whole idea of this bill seems fishy to me in the first place, for the following reasons:

    1. Carl Levin and John McCain would NEVER work together in the past, so why now?
    2. The US hasn't had any major terrorist scares recently, so why enact such a harsh bill?
    3. Why hasn't this been all over the news?
    4. Why would they name it the same thing as another federal law that has been in effect for the last 48 years (used to specify the budget and expenditures of the US Department of Defense)

Yes I know it exists, but you have to understand, the government will not be going around imprisoning random people for no reason. I believe they are planning a war with Iran and are doing this for our safety. You may disagree with me but the Patriot Act and NDAA are there for our safety, not to infringe on your rights or piss you off.

Sorry if I offended you, but the Mexican border does need improvements. Illegal Mexican immigrants bringing illegal drugs and taking our jobs is no good.

    Love these threads.

Sure makes for some interesting things to think (and read more) about if nothing else. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult trying to pull apart the fact from the fiction though.

Iran is gonna do teh nooks tah Israel and vise versa.

MY OFFICIAL PREDICTION: Within 3 months of this exact moment, the threat (or use of) of a nuclear attack on Israel or on Iran will jump significantly, beginning the US invasion of Iran.

Regarding "Yes the military has the right to imprison anyone, but not without speedy trial by jury, plus according to the article, the US government must first declare the person a terrorist!"

    I present to you this:
Preppers Who Have Guns, Ammunition, 7 Days of Food Can Be Considered a Potential Terrorist - YouTube

And also, "The committee hearings on it were done in secret, even though the Constitution requires the Congress to do these things in public..." so if they got away with that, then they can get away with it breaking the 5th and 6th Amendment of the Constitution, and they can get this bill approved without changes, and they can get away without having to label you as a terrorist, and so on.

And the reason this hasn't been all over the news is because they don't want it to be, there's that, and there's the fact that it may have passed BECAUSE it's another federal law that has been in effect for the last 48 years, that's how they get you.

I have not heard of one time where the Patriot Act actually HELPED in keeping us safe. You really think that starting a war with Iran is for your "safety"? That kind of logic makes no sense. Did they not learn from Iraq? IRAQ out of all countries, who was ruled by Saddam, who used CHEMICAL weapons on his own people was found not to have WMD's...What makes you think Iran has them? Why haven't we gone after North Korea in that case? A country who is known to have Nuclear Weapons and who have used them as a threat.

Looking at things from a strategic point of view, even if Iran DID have Nuclear Weapons, there's absolutely NO WAY it will even think about using them on Israel during a war. Want to know why? There's Lebanon adjacent to Israel, and Iran has allies in Lebanon...and there's also Syria...Invading Iran would be one of the most unwise decisions America makes. Look what happened in Iraq, you think it'll end any better in Iran?

Also, allow me to add this: You know why America has been able to get away with so much more? It's because we the people are lazy ****s, straight up. We whine, *****, and complain, but want problems to get fixed on their own.

Interesting that this has suddenly become an issue when the US government makes a move to impose these measures on US citizens and on US soil. The rest of the planet has been subject to these same US imposed measures for some time now. Glad you guys are finally waking up.

Just because some people choose not to talk about it, it doesn't mean that they aren't aware. Not everyone likes to talk politics.

Exactly. But they talk about it when it affects them. This bill is an example of that.

I have no doubt Iran has nuclear weapons, and Syria may as well. I know that it would be dumb to just invade Iran, but it may be a necessity in the near future. It may lead to a "world war" type war, with all of the uprising etc. in the middle east going on, in addition to Iran's allies being so close. We will just have to see how it plays out..

Question: Why is the US allies with Israel?

Well, if you need to ask that, then I think you're getting into a conversation that is way out of your league.

Neither of those questions son relevante Senor Nixon.

And SnowDrift I just mean I don't get why an Alliance with Israel is so important, since it seems we are going to get pulled into a lot of **** with them, lol.

Heres the way I see it Obama will beg, steal or borrow another 4 years, in the meantime we we enter a few more wars, and the economy wll get worse. Now it is time for another election...or is it? I can see this speach coming out of washington; "due to the etremely poor state of the economy and the miltary threats to our country, I have determined that it is not in the best intrest of our nation to step down at this point therefore using the power of my excutive branch I am suspending all elections until further notice."

Heres my take on the Iran B.S. Iran "stole" a UAV and tricked it into landing in Iran by hijacking the GPS system. Now all we have to do is load one with a NUKE and "let" them take another and detonate the bomb. Good luck trying to prove they didnt nuke themselves by stealing one of our drones.

War with Iran WILL happen don't think for a second it won't and for those who brought up Israel.
War with Iran could end up being Israelie military armed with US weapons and technology, (which they have already had to decades) this option I like keeps our troop out and Israel CAN hold there own. Their military is damn well trained and highly disiplined something ours is losing every day!
