If you think I don't know what I'm talking about, you are wrong, whats with the harshness?
I know for a FACT this bill CANNOT be approved (without some changes) by the federal judiciary because it violates the fifth and sixth amendments of the US CONSTITUTION.
Yes the military has the right to imprison anyone, but not without speedy trial by jury, plus according to the article, the US government must first declare the person a terrorist!
When enlisting in any armed forces in the US, personnel swear by oath to defend the right of the constitution.
This whole idea of this bill seems fishy to me in the first place, for the following reasons:
1. Carl Levin and John McCain would NEVER work together in the past, so why now?
2. The US hasn't had any major terrorist scares recently, so why enact such a harsh bill?
3. Why hasn't this been all over the news?
4. Why would they name it the same thing as another federal law that has been in effect for the last 48 years (used to specify the budget and expenditures of the US Department of Defense)
Yes I know it exists, but you have to understand, the government will not be going around imprisoning random people for no reason. I believe they are planning a war with Iran and are doing this for our safety. You may disagree with me but the Patriot Act and NDAA are there for our safety, not to infringe on your rights or piss you off.
Sorry if I offended you, but the Mexican border does need improvements. Illegal Mexican immigrants bringing illegal drugs and taking our jobs is no good.
