For the new Xbox 360 exploit? Achieves essentially the same thing as JTAG'ing, except it works on all units (except Xenon) with any dashboard version, including the new slim models. What's better? Microsoft can't fix the exploit through software updates, which means it's here to stay. Unless they somehow find a way to prevent it through hardware revisions on newer consoles (which is extremely doubtful, since the exploit is based off the inherent nature of the consoles' hardware).

Would be nice.... I still use a boot disk. I haven't actually picked up my 360 for gaming in a good 2 years.

By Xenon you mean the newest 360 model out right now? If that's the case, then it doesn't interest me.

And what makes you so sure that Microsoft is unable to fix this through software updates? They fixed every exploit in the past using that method...

And Xenon is the first Xbox 360 motherboard Remnant King. This exploit works with the slim (Vejle).

They can't fix it through a software update because of the nature of the hack itself. It's a hardware hack (as opposed to all previous software exploits -- yes, traditional JTAG'ing & the King Kong exploit are software exploits) that exploits slight glitches in the way console operates at the physical level -- they would have to change the hardware in order to prevent the hack. If you really want to get into the nitty gritty here's a nice read: http://www.free60.org/Reset_Glitch_Hack

Holy crap, NOW I am interested.

I was just about to ask for a link and release date.

That's too much detail for me, my friend is going to love this though.

If you want to go into REAL detail then here:

Remind me again how that's relevant? Xbox and Android are two completely different and largely unrelated products lol

He means without the disc, which is only possible with a JTAG-like exploit or to actually buy the game from Games On Demand.

Okay, for those of us who are PC gamers and tend to neglect our consoles, what is the significance of what is taking place here? Just a single statement will do. Something like,"Before you couldn't ______, but now you can _______."

Before you couldn't run unsigned code -- custom applications, have hard drives larger than what Microsoft would release, unban consoles, play media in formats Microsoft won't program the Xbox to support, play installed games right off the hard drive with no disc...the list goes on; but now you can.

Anyone who uses JTAG'ing or anything else to cheat is a ****wad. Cheating is stupid and deserves no merit, rather a punch to the nose. I mod for fun and convenience, I would never cheat.
