Man that made my morning!! Thanks!!!
To answer your insurance question. That is something that probably you and your body shop might have to work out. I know for my car, with the SLP GTX Package on it. I have kept all my SLP recepits for the aftermarket stuff. And I checked with my insurance rep and asked him that very same question. He simply said as long as you have recepits to show the actual dollar value you paid for the parts in question, it would be covered.
Now for switching out the hood? This is where you and your body shop guy come into play. Most times you can have your body shop substitute parts for other ones. Some body shops will tell you they can only put on what the insurance company tells them to put, while this is true in most cases, there ways around it. Cause they are going to give you a check for the full amount to repair the vehicle and replace the broken parts, minus your $500 deductable.
From there with the leftover money, you and your body shop guy can figure out if there is a way to do other things with the car, ie the SLP hood or spoiler. But as I said earlier some places wont mess with that cause they have already been burned by Brand X Insurance company. You just have to shop it around and found the right shop to work with you. That's the hardest part of it all. Insurance companies make auto body repair shops life a ***** sometimes
Opps almost forgot!!
I am glad too you are ok!! I hope they got the car that started this whole mess![]()
