TOYOTA TO INTRODUCE TWO NEW RWD SPORTS CARS? - Speedhunters
this comment is what made me want to share that..
he's so right about everything imo.
more proves my reasoning on not wanting to buy a car after like 2003
Chris H:
Yay a new MR2. It will probably be 3200lbs, AWD, powered by a front engine 4 cylinder that makes 240 or 280hp for $42,000. The new NSX is proving to be a flop so far and it hasn't even come out yet. I have a hard time any old cars will be revived in the proper way they should be, the industry is changing and it's not going anywhere nice.
What is perceived as affordable now is wildly unreasonable and often times misses the mark. Come out with something that is $17-20k, weighs under 2700lbs makes over 240whp and handles like it's on rails and I'm all in. It's gotta be faster and handle better than an S2000 and a C5 Z06 which can BOTH be had for under 20k these days.
The whole industry is going blind. I brought up this topic today while working on a Porsche with a guy who is a legend that probably no one on this board would know if I even said his name. There isn't a single car in his garage that is later than 1984 and I can't help but think this is the reason why. $24,500 for a new FRS? Please....we can build something 10 seconds a lap faster with the same streetability for the same price.
Re makes now are nothing more than some new over priced POS with an old badge or acronym slapped on it. Sorry but until someone really knocks it out of the park all these claims of NEW MR-2, NEW Supra, NEW this NEW that are just empty promises to a generation that hasn't been brought up to know any better.
You can blame the feds for the over inflated cost of cars. Between super strict mpg requirements to being required to put sissy nanny "driver assist aids" on cars because people are inattentive, non-driving boobs, all cause car prices to go up.
^^^ HAHAHA, ole snowflake or juice on LS Tech, very fun to read his stuff.
At least he didn't pinch your ass.
Thoughts so far this week:
*Despite knowing relatively few people without them, the corporate world still has a surprising number of employees without college degrees. To test for one simply, note whether the subject can handle a numbered list. If they jump about and/or skip items entirely, they definitely lack a degree, or at least one worth mentioning, as the ability to successfully navigate these simple tools is often a crucial qualification for graduation.
*Even though they've been using it for the past decade, some people will need you to draw a map to find the Windows Start Button. They will inevitably proceed to be surprised and mystified by its presence and function. They will forget about it by morning and begin all over again tomorrow. These people must walk to work, because there's no ****ing way they can or should be allowed to operate a car.
*While your new laptop and may appear to be strapped to a desk with a steel cable, one should always test it immediately with a feat of strength.
Surprise! That sucker's really on there. Aren't you glad nobody saw that?
*Seven gigabytes of local email archives is allegedly necessary, useful, and not weird at all.
I disagree about the lack of a college degree. It seems the people I know that have a college degree are the biggest idiots.
I don't have a degree I am much more intelligent than the average person.
my step mom is like that i have shown her how to draw a box in photoshop about 1000 times now and she still can figure it out. freaking piss me off to no end. you been here 5 years now and you cant figure out how to draw a simple box let alone anything more complex. then she has the balls to tell you that she is a "born leader" yeah right give her any thing slighly stressful and way her crumble. /end rant
that is the closest i get to a rant
I'm not saying that a college degree means you're not an idiot. We all know that's far from the truth. I'm saying that a college degree indicates that you might have followed an instruction or two a couple of times, regardless of how worthless you might otherwise be.
most book smart people are as dumb as a bag of rocks in everyday life.
I've met people with MBA's that are flat out stupid.
One of them was the woman who had my job previously. She had a masters degree, only worked there 3 weeks, and ****ed up EVERYTHING. She literally did nothing correctly.
Im just gonna give you one example... She wrote a check for over $15,000.. But recorded it in quick books as a $258 check. Which no one realized until I did my first end of the month report and I was told the impress account was over $10k in the red. Bricks were shat.
Maybe my personal bar has been raised over the years, but I seldom meet anyone I consider "book smart" anymore. In fact, most of the ones I do meet pass for at least average smart outside of their expertise. More frequently, I meet the merely semi-educated that are mistakenly convinced of their own competence.
