swap is done tranny is awesome. I estimate around a 3 tenths of a second gain in the 1/4...that stock tranny was garbage...slipped so bad lol...i had shift points set at like 5000 with my hpt so it could shift at 6000...and then sometimes it still hit the rev-limiter lol....and man that xp cam pulls hard...keeps pullin untill 6400....havent gone past that yet....dont think there is a need to...just some misc pics of the install here.

seemed like forever...my neighbor came over and we were talking ( he has an old turbo'd firebird--says they came from the factory like that...it's got like 60k miles lol) and he was like man you got that thing put back together quick..I kind of looked at him funny and was like man...your right...but it felt like forever...

thats not to bad, but then again it is along time. you think its doable to put the cam in while the motor is in?

Do-able? sure....pain in the but....sure...lol....I imagine the hardest part would be getting to the oil pan bolts so the timing cover can come off...and pulling the dampner off with a puller....the motor mount is in the way of most of the oil pan bolts on that side of the engine because it wraps around the motor.

Actually that is all very easy, the hard part for me was the steering shaft. You only need to pull three of the oil pan bolts to get the front cover off.

I think they only Turbo'ed TA's. the 301's, were dogs, but the 89 TTA's were pretty quick.
