In working on my boat, I looked at a sister boat in blue (same boat) and passed on it. Tonight I am going to look at another boat and very likely buy it.
Soooo I think I'm going to end up flipping boats, who wants to buy one?![]()

If you offer free delivery, I'll take it. lol
Boat is in very good shape and needs very little overall. Should be able to flip or sell for a profit unless a buddy of mine wants it.
It's a 1989 Larsen DC-170. Meaning Larsen open bow 17 foot, has a 3.7L inboard/outboard. Forums seem to be alive with lovers and haters of this big 4 banger. It ran great for 30 minutes. Interior is good and complete. The starter barely wants to turn the motor, seems like a bad starter, alternator conversion was done, needs either a better belt or additional pulley to help wrap. Some electrical glitchiness in all gauges and lights sometimes work. And he said it takes on some water that the bilge can easily handle. Prop is beat a bit.
I'm thinking there's a dirty ground or two in the mix, not worried about electrical. Likely the bellow on the outdrive is leaking the water. Then it would need an overall cleaning. Prop would need to be replaced.
Lastly he couldn't find the title and had requested a duplicate a week ago, should arrive in about a week. Meanwhile he's holding it w/o a deposit for me and I have the option of not buying.
Interesting how this boat is a foot longer, and a more narrow beam. Makes it feel smaller.
throw a blower on the boat ....BoostedBoat37
Found a 99 Bayliner with some type of motor issues for 2k. That's dirty cheap for such a new boat.
motor issues? that's nothing for bill.
It was a wellcraft, I was wrong. Asked guy, seemed like cracked exhaust was the motor issue. Also he's letting people look at it as they've contacted him so I have no chance of getting such a nice new boat for cheap.
Yours sounds like its coming along nicely, you should keep it. You have done the tough stuff, time to reap the benefits of a job well done. I vote keep it.Don't sell your boat!
rule one of boat ownership, is you always want a bigger one lol
boats feel as if they have lots of room sitting on a trailer, once your in open water things become very snug lol
i went from a 14 footer i ran for like 3 years right to a brand new 24 footer, it held 6 easy enough, but for fishing trips 3 was the max. 5 to 6 was reserved for macys fireworks shows on the east river.
I do like my boat a lot and it looks much better than anything else from that timeframe because it was never used. The Wellcraft sold, so that's not a thought... meanwhile the one I looked at the other night, title has come in. I told him I'll come pick it up Friday after 5pm.
I'd show you guys a picture of the boats side by side, except photobucket hates my guts. I have to empty a little out. Hahaha Or sign up a buddy
You should make room for a 3rd lol, take a ride down Washington road when your in town. I saw it yesterday, looks like the one on the left maybe.
