Luck to you on your deployment.
For the car, get some fuel stabilizer in the tank, fill it as full as you can get it, helps limit rust formation.
Find family or friends with space in the garage, if no garage a spot in a driveway , then invest in a good car cover that's lockable.
If the friends or family can start it every so often that'd be great so that all the seals and stuff stay lubricated. Also get a battery Tender and hook it up. uses very little juice but keeps your battery stable by cycling the battery.
If you are going for a long time, consider removing the wheels and putting it on blocks. Two main reasons for this are, no flat spots on the tires and it's a b i t c h to steal when it can't be driven!
All I can think of right now, stay safe.

Wow that sux, you'd THINK they'd haven given you more time to get **** straight before you leave the country. I completely agree with bandit, def put it on blocks or stands, stack the wheels in a safe place, preferably store the car in a safe garage and have friends start it once a month and let it idle for a little while. Keep it all nice and intact for when you get back. AND YOU BETTA KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN SO YOU COME BACK!!!

God be with you and keep you safe buddy, we all thank you and support you

That would work for storage, but I would imagine they wouldn't allow anyone to start it periodically, and sitting on the tires would result in flat spots after a while... but Gov paid storage would be nice

Good luck man and be safe. Also its the military, they did this to a few of my friends so you aren't the only getting orders at the last minute.

If you do have someone start it, make sure it runs for 10-15 mins. Just letting it run for a couple minutes will do more harm than good. It will build up condensation and it won't have time to burn it off. Honestly, with todays tires, I wouldn't worry about flat spots on the tires. Make sure there is plenty of air in them and you will be fine.

My brother in law went overseas for a year and he didn't have anyone start his pickup while he was gone and he didn't put it up in the air and everything was fine.

On such short notice I would put fuel stabilizer in it and fill the block completely with oil. Takes about 23 qrts or so and let it sit. Being gone for a year up too two wont hurt it not running.

Problem with running it and shutting it off is the water that builds up in the exhaust if not ran long enough.

Wow...that def sucks that you couldnt get any type of notice but I say have a fam member that you trust watch it and possibly have it ran about 10-15 mins every few days. and x2 on the psi of the tires. you wont necessarily get flat spots if you max the psi out. and Thanks for Serving!!
