The U bend delete will free up your exhaust flow. Removing the resonator is going to give you a raspy V6 sound. Leaving that on and putting a nice set of fufflers on to change the tone will give you the low tone that you are probably looking for. This was said on another thread, but I can't remember by who. I've heard alot of people saying that they like the magnaflow mufflers. But everyone has their own brand that they like. Mine, I hacked off the resonator and mufflers a few years back and she is load as I doon't know what. Mainly did it to tick off the cops back home. Thay liked loud trucks but not cars. Gonna throw some mufflers back on Shortly. Probably some type of turbo muffler for now until I do the full exhaust on her.

Glasspacks are still going to be somewhat on the load side. I had 2 SS muflers on mine at first, glasspack style internals, had a desent tone, but I couldn't sneek up on anybody. It's really on what your looking for. A noticable difference at start up and driving or scare the heck out of little kids at start up and alot louder tone while driving. As for emmisions, glasspacks might put you on the edge of yes or no. But it should be as long as you have a good cat and your rides in good running condition, you might be alright. Don't deal with that much here. Atleast not yet.

The u-bend and resonator have nothing to do with emissions. As long as you weld the O2 sensor back in when you remove the u-bend you'll be fine.

Most muffler shops won't alter anything that touches an emissions device (02 sensor), it might be technically legal, but most don't want the potential hassle from the epa folks.

They should know what your talking about. And they shouldn't have any problem doing the u bend because a O2 is going back in it. If they ask you what the u band is, tell them DUH! It's the pipe at the front of the exhaust that looks like a U.lol!!!!

If they aren't familar with the u-bend before they put it on a lift, they will be after and should have no problems doing this for you because of emmission regulations.

In this area no major auto shop of any kind would that. I know it's legal, but most won't get near an emmisions device, unless it's to replace it.

One guy I went to for some exhaust stuff, he wasn't real concerned about emissions. After he was done picking on me for driving a front wheel drive car, he said "Well, I'm not allowded to cut anything out. But right there is the saw, get to it."

I just had him cut the cat out and weld in a straight pipe. Gave him $20 for the job and he took it, shoved it into his pocket and said "There, that is $20 the IRS won't ever know about." Then laughed his ass off. What a guy.

I'm sure there is one around your way somewhere. Just have to go to different shops and talk to people. Once they get to know you a little, they'll start to let stuff slide. Especially if the owner is the one doing the work.
