I know guys with the FWD VQ35 block hitting 270whp N/A with just bolt-ons in a 3,100 lbs car and they are running high 12s.
Hell we have a guy on the maxima forums with a stock bottom block, head and cam work up top who just pulled a 10s 1/4 mile pass N/A.
Someone just did a fully built NA VQ35 FWD and is hitting 320whp and he is still getting use to it and tweaking it, but he has pulled a 12.2 1/4 pass.
SO a VQ needs boost to be useful eh?
I love the LS motors and I agree that go big cube or go home, but i'm comparing v6 to v6 for now. I mean if you wanna drop a 4 cylinder in, go for an SR20 or something other than a Mitsu engine or QR25 (garbage POS motor)
How about a 2.0T from a VW, those things love boost? or a Diesel Grand Prix LOL?

^^^deisel grand prix!!!
I'd rock a dirtyprix
I bet that guy has **** ton of money in the VQ making 320whp. Not saying it cant be done at least a year ago I believe modified magazine had a 400hp VQ in a G35 that was NA. Massive heads, massive cam, and a holden intake I bet an ancient pushrod 3800 could come damn close to those #s. I will say again for the money yes anything small cubes needs boost. I bet easily the money thats into the VQ could have been spent on a turbo or SC setup and it'd make more HP for less. Same with the NA 3800. Also ever drove a massive head/cam NA car on the street? Their worthless. All comes down to what I said in the 1st place anything can be fast and make big HP even NA its a matter of how deep are your pockets??
possibly
apllication could be a complete fail but i wonder if this will physically fit?
GM announces new 4.5L V8 Duramax diesel for half-ton trucks and HUMMER H2 — Autoblog
Well would you look at that, noobs talkin about crankwalk. HA. It should also be noted that a "4g63" is NOT the same as a "4g63t".
On a side note. This is a GM product. If you want to do a killer engine swap... LS1? no? never heard of one? The 4g63t is a neat engine for a mitsubishi car, and it has potential, dont get me wrong. But like the other guys on here have said.. the 3800 has more potential without spending more money. A 3800 doesn't seem to have a HP limit on the stock short block as far as we know. The 4g63t however, the most solid stock build will be limited to 400whp or so. Why do dsm guys mess with the 4g63t soo damn much? I've owned a gsx, there is no room in the engine bay for anything else.
