So...with stock wheels and a decent 60'...like a 1.9 or 2.0...you would have been damn close if not in the 13's. I ran a 13.89 @ 98 with a FWI, 3" DP, PEM's, 1.84 Roller Rockers, and a 3.5"...but it was pretty warm out...I was on street tires, full int., spare tire/jack, and pump crapo 91.
I will say this...get the headers put on and get your tune dialed in with the stock pulley. You should be able to run a crapload of timing with that stock pulley before you start knocking. Also...watch the slicks...your input shafts aren't going to like those very much being stock. Just throwing that stuff out there.
As for tips on launching. Practice. Your stock stall works just fine...you can run the RPM's up to about 2K just braking it up at the line...you don't want to mash it or you'll just blow the tires off...nor do you want to be easy on it...you've gotta find the happy medium. You want the pedal as far down as it'll go while the tires are just screaming for traction...I've found this to be about 70% throttle until about 15-20 then lay into it...but the less mods you have...easier it is to launch it.
