Matco = WalMart. Snap On Rules. I have a DVD around somewhere that compares tool boxes from the three main tool companies (Snap On, Matco, I forget the other one). The Snap on box is the only one that holds up. They end the video by placing six (6) Snap on boxes in a parking lot and putting a semi truck on top of them.Matco Tools logo in the middle...

GM is working on a non-spark ignited gasoline engine. The process is known as Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI). Details:5. A diesel is more reliable because it doesn't have to deal with a spark ignition system.
An HCCI engine ignites an air/fuel mixture by compressing it in the cylinder at low temperature, instead of using a spark plug. The ignition is spontaneous and does not propagate as a flame front. In a gas engine, the ignition is generated from a spark plug, and in a diesel engine, there are multiple flame fronts.
The concept of HCCI technology was introduced three decades back, but advancements took place in the past couple of years when major automakers and research groups across the world started working on building prototypes.
Why HCCI?
- HCCI's primary advantage is more favorable fuel consumption, or better MPG, and generating inherently low emissions. The power produced in an HCCI engine is similar to spark ignition (SI) gasoline engines.
- An HCCI engine, when combined with other advanced technologies, can provide up to 15 percent greater fuel economy than a comparable, non-HCCI engine by using the compression combustion process that operates at a much lower temperature than diesel combustion.
- HCCI combustion takes place at lower temperatures helping to reduce NOx emissions. A diesel HCCI set up emits 30 percent of the NOx that a conventional diesel engine emits, which reduces the necessity of exhaust aftertreatment. By comparison, gas engines have inherently lower NOx emissions, and therefore still more aftertreatment is required for diesels to reduce NOx to the level of gasoline engines.
- The technology is compatible with a wide variety of fuels, such as biofuels, diesel, gasoline, and E85 (ethanol). GM's findings reveal that ethanol is a suitable fuel for auto ignition that offers high octane with no smoke-producing tendency. In addition, ethanol produces easier combustion with low carbon accumulation.
Not exactly true. The PowerJoke was a $4800 option where the 6.8L V10 was a $600 option. It's not surprising that used diesels bring more money than used Tritons since the diesel option cost so much more up front.6. A diesel vehicle holds its value better than a gasoline engine!

Say what you want about my tattoo and what I've said on these forums. Do any of you work on cars for a living? Do any of you have $45,000 in tools? Much less a $12,000 tool box to hold it all? Dis my tattoo all you want, it was FREE. Plus I get advertising bonuses from Matco. Snap-On is great, but there isn't a dealer that comes to our shop. Life-time warranty only goes as far as how soon you can get it replaced.
Mystic... You think I haven't seen that? I own a Snap-On box. Matco put out a video showing Snap-On boxes being dropped off a fork-lift from 6 ft. up. Snap-On doesn't have a video of a tractor (semi to you novices) on their boxes. IT'S A PICTURE. And Snap-on fired back with putting a Matco box in a car-crusher. If you knew ANYTHING about tools Macto is their #1 competetor. Craftsmen comes with a 1 year warrenty. Matco comes with a, let me check my calendar.... LIFETIME warrenty. My $25,000 Ford would kick the BOOGERS out of a Grand Prix. Not to mention, with the mods I have, it will run twice, if not three times longer than your silly little grocery getter with a turbo, intake, exhaust tips, drilled/slotted rotors, and a rebuilt top-end that makes 300hp ever will.
I'm not trying to start anything on here, and originally I was being a dickweed and cleaned up my act. But since you guys are into body mods and being tools, you probably don't even know what a spark plug is. Do some research and grow up...

You do not work on cars for a living, either; you work on diesel trucks, by your own admission. You want to measure dicks by the sticker value of your tool box? Why not compare net worth, then, since your dick will shrink considerably.

I don't work on cars for a living. I have no desire to. I wrench on all of my own stuff. I have enough tools to do what I need to. If I don't, I go to my dads shop and borrow some. If we are checking dick sizes based on tool boxes and tools, hes Lexington Steele.
I would hope your tattoo was free. I would be POed if I paid for that thing.

I work on aircraft that cost several hundred million dollars each. We definitely don't use Matco. We use Snap-on (even their tool boxes, which can take a Yuke running over them, aka a 50,000lb tow truck), and we use Craftsman. Last I checked, all of my personal Craftsman tools also have a lifetime warranty, as do my Kobalts which are made by Snap-on.
Bring some of that my way. I'll be happy to show you 12s with just a tune. How's a 4.2s 0-60 sound? And if you don't think that's enough then I can happily introduce you to a few friends who are running low 11s on street tires.
And, like Planeboy's suggestion, we could do it on a road course. I'm pretty confident most of the GPs here would be able to take on a top heavy barge like a Ford truck. Straight lines are boring. Go balls to the wall around a turn and see how much you're talking then.
As has been proven if you look around the forum, there are plenty of people here who obviously would know more about an engine than you, and they aren't a tool about it. I'll let you in on a secret. Being a dealership mechanic isn't any cred at all. No one respects them, and they know they aren't exactly the smartest people in the world (though, I figured most could spell "competitor" and "warranty", but I guess not). That's why working on a car is a hobby, since anyone can do it if they can pick up a wrench and follow step by step instructions.

I think you mistook the pontiac forums for you ford forums. Go there if you want to bash our cars and say your piece o' **** diesel can beat us. Sure maybe you could beat some of the gp's on here at a drag strip. Want to go around a road course since you like comparing apples to oranges? My car and the one guy with a subaru on here would destroy your piece o' **** truck around corners. And I don't need to spend a year's worth of college tuition on tools when a little 200 dollar craftsman set is all I need to get the job done. But I guess we all just suck since we don't spend ridiculous amounts of money on being a tool, I mean buying tools.

^ Agreed! Hell i know more about engines than you im 20 years old an could probably almost walkin into your job at the dealer ship without setting a foot in school for it. Play by play instructions videos all that thatd just make it even that much easier for me to walk into it. I could do your job when i was 5 with the technology they give you dealers now. Anyone with all their nuts an bolts together and a properly equipped tool box could do it.
As far as ur tool box your a supposed full time mechanic ur supposed to have all the tools to do every single thing on any vehicle that comes in your bay so no s*** you have alot of tools but that doesnt mean u ought to brag about it because here NOONE gives a s***! An fyi i have more tools available to me than u probably ever will in your life!

you are one extreme hypocrit. This is GRAND PRIX FORUMS, not FORD DIESEL FORUMS. I'm sick of opening a thread or post with you in it and seeing how much more awesome your diesel is than our Grand Prix's. I really just don't care. If you want to stick around and talk a little more GP tech and a little less s***, feel free to. And as for that lame tattoo, all it does is make you look like a trashy redneck. I guarantee that you don't know more about cars and especially not more about GP's than other members on here and that's why some of us are on here: to learn.
