when you first drove you se gt or gtp
Ohhhhh yeah, this is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
honestly i loved the way the gtp looked and my dad has a 92 grand am very reliable and only 79k on her! basically when i saw the car and the S/C i knew deep down she was coming home with us if i had to beg to let me buy it hahahaha sure enough shes currently in the garage with her engine toren apart...![]()
anyways yeah when i first drove it and heard the whine i almost blew a load =] lol not to mention i felt like the road was mine ha
wasn't red, wasn't silver. had 2 be a 2 door. had to have less than 80k miles and in good condition! HAD 2 BE a GTP. took me over a month to find mine.
98 grand prix GTP
2 door
Green
low miles! 53k
mint condition
and had leather and a sunroof (didn't care, but is always nice to have options)
only got to drive it for like 2 miles. the salesman didn't even let me get on it really! also, my g/f drove it home the first day! i had my other car which is stick!
i didn't really get to "have a feeling" i just knew it was the one w/ how hard it was 2 find!
sorry for the story. i just like to tell it how i first got it!
well, it was originally my moms car, and i was like DANG!this is fast! it was a big step up from my s-10 [i still miss it :'( ] its still the fastest car i've ever ridden in. which is sad, im missing out on life.
yeah i wish i had a 2 dr but o well
i needed a replacement for my 95 monte...my parents said that if i found an affordable car they would co-sign a loan for me, i had no credit at the time. i pulled up to the dealership and there she was sitting right in the front row, shinning...i even saw it wink at me. i gave the guy $100 to hold it for me, later that week she came home with me.
Drove a brand new 2002 SE and bought it that night. Traded in my 1993 SE, preivously had a 1976 Grand Prix-wish I would nave never sold...
I was amazed how nice the 2002 SE was, drove it until it had approx 100,000 miles then traded it for a 2005 G6 GT, regretted that decision shortly afterward-still do. Got rid of the G6 last fall and bought a 2003 GT Limited Edition - LOVE IT! I now have 2 '97 GTs and the '03
i bought my 99 GT from an older lady. I bought it for $2,500 w/ 113k. I needed a replacement for my 95 Buick Riviera. I thought the power was the same as the riv, nothing spectacular, and a bit slow. After i did my top-swap and a good amount of mods, it was like driving the car for the first time, i laughed like a school girl when i first heard the blower whine![]()
Lets see after 3 week of looking and having 9000 cash in hand
I found it in Davis,ca bout 50 miles from me
Had to wait for my old lady to get home so I picked it up about 9pm on the test drive
I left a good size patch of rubber behind a store drove back offered him 2500 He wanted 3500
He reluctantly took the 2500 and MY WIFE TOOK the keys and drove it home
We both loved how it drove
I had wanted one since i had seen one at the state fair in 97 i must have stared at the car for 30 minutes that day
I wanted another W body I test drove an Impala Ls and immediately turned it around and took it back to the dealer. It was too soft and felt like a grandma car. I decided a Grand Prix would be it as I needed a 4 door car. When I took it for the test drive I fell in love with it. Everything about the car is smooth, the exhaust purr, the tight suspension, and I missed having red gauges with my last 2 chevys. I never liked the 04+ face but it's growing on me.
first thing i did on the test drive was roll down the front two windows and floored it. even though it was stock, you could still hear just the faintest s/c whine. one word: sold.
same here flash haha
first time i heard it start up i thought to myself i have to have this car. didnt floor it on the test drive cause i knew how much power it had but my dad didnt, and if he did he would of said no to buying it. but on the way home after it was mine...lets just say i creamed my pants![]()
I started with the GT and I loved the handling, the power, and the fuel economy. My other daily driver at the time was a F350 SuperDuty CrewCab V10 with 4" blocks and 33" tires. The 310 HP of the V10 sounds like a lot but the truck weighed 7400 pounds so acceleration was a bit pokey. When you wanted to pass it was like a chess game. The Grand Prix was much more tossable and more fun all the way around.
Then one day on the way home from work in the GT I passed my '02 for sale. Pulled over and checked it out. Took it for a test drive with the windows down and sunroof open. Nailed it at around 40 mph and it got up and hauled (compared to the GT). So I CarFaxed it and later bought it.![]()
when i got in my GP i thought, oh great getting a used rusted car from an older lady (fiance's aunt)
we started to drive and OH wow, V6 really makes a diff over the other car we have which is a 02 cavalier.
now that ive fallen in love with GP's all i want is a GTP lol sadly we cant aford it![]()
started looking for a car seen a few that i like to expensive then we pulled into a dealer ship and i seen a red 4dr GTP with 80k on it , looked the car over and loved every bit of it till i seen the price i couldnt afford it but i was set on a grand prix. my parents said sunfire i said no then i came ac crossed a grand prix GT special eddition and fell in love once again and now shes in the drive way. only other option i wished it had on it is HUD but i can do with out![]()
man pure i love my HUD =] hahaha just giving you crap ha but im sure theres a way to wire it into a gt correct?
