..how can i design a new motor? that is crazy talk.

nah, im probably not going to make an l67 80s car anyway. sounds like a lot of work from what trannyman was saying. id rather have an ls1 GTA anyway. big cam, big heads, long tubes....awesome.

I'd do an LS1 and something RWD myself. I like the L67 and all, but an LSx motor is pretty badass. I keep a look out for good clean S10s or even a Miata, for a little transplant.

LOLOL an LSx would kill a miata, all the handling they brag about would go down the tubes. And it's a womans "sport" car.

a regal t-type or GN would be awesome. finding one in good condition for a decent price is nearly impossible.

Its been done before... an LS1 Miata would clean up out there. Besides who gives a damn about autocrossing? Not me, I'd have more fun straight line myself....

Me and you are in the same boat, I would rather feel the power in a straight line. But I have driven my friends passat that he built for auto-x and let me tell you if you can drive you can have a hell of a lot of fun at an auto-x.
