NO emissions or inspections in most of Oregon. The Big 3 cities in our state have Emissions with 2 having same rules and Medford having different set (20yr age limit I believe). In either case it's only $10 IF you pass.
What you gotta be careful of is do not EVER.....EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (insert Smokey from Friday) touch a Fuel Pump when gassing up....it's against the law to pump your own gas here (motorcycles and Commercial exempt)
not really that bad, when its hot as hell i stay in the cool car, or if its cold, snowing or raining im also still in the car......and gas here is a bit cheaper then most places still. ill let the guy pump my gas for me.
I like pumping juice into my cars hole.
If its cold outside I just go back and sit in the car and wait.
law says to turn car off while filling, mine stays on. Self pump ftw!
im well traveled, and i must say most states take the handle locks off so you have to hold the damn thing the whole time, and i dint like that.
heres a tip, rental cars, rip the gas cap off its string and use it to hold the lever, got yelled at for that one at some dumb state by the gas station dick head.
wtf? IL Wis and Indiana I can lock all handles to full on. They can go ahead and take it off I have velcro
This^^^^^^^^^^
I didn't realize how many states have ****ty emissions laws. The only check of any kind here is for the vin when you purchase out of state. We have separate laws that require a muffler and noise to be below a certain decibel limit, but I've never heard of anyone getting cited for it.
Ontario no inspection just bi anuual etests
It doesn't shock me that states/provinces are moving away from emissions testing. It is expensive and honestly makes little difference. Automobiles only account for a small percentage of the earth's pollution. They say the pollution output by 15 ocean freighters equal that all of the cars on earth.
Hell cows are responsible for 14% of the earths greenhouse gases. They emit methane which is 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide.
I used to love watching the monkeys try and figure out how to put the sniffer in my tailpipe on the Bronco; the first time the monkey nailed it with ease, but the next 4 years were painful to watch. LOL

Possible. Small engine vehicles (motorcycles) are not subject to the same standards as passenger vehicles. Mythbusters did an episode about motorcycle emissions and how you weren't actually polluting less by riding one. This was a couple years ago when gas prices were at their peak.

The last handful of post reinforce my theory that, emissions testing is simply another way to bilk citizens of their money and do VERY little to positively impact the environment.
In the mid-90s I lived in the Dallas TX area and had just bought a 1971 Pontiac Ventura II. At that time and in that place, sniff testing was being tried out. It was the law but the program was a "trial". My car did not pass. Not enough of the exhaust was making it to the tailpipe, they said. During the grace period for repair, the emissions inspection program was cancelled. Dodged that bullet! The law returned to normal inspections like I had always seen in prior days regardless of state. A few years later I moved to Arkansas and had the same inspections as always n TX and LA. Then soon after that, even those inspections were discontinued here. My understanding is that when they did away with state inspection, laws were changed to allow traffic stops to check for those violations. Thats the extent of my emissions / inspection worries... currently there are none. Taxes are sky high though, and we mostly drive junk.
