Damn are your headlights even on?
Nice turn fail bahaha
You boys must all need LED night lights to go potty. Do you let kittens sleep in the rust holes on your heaps? While you're all snug in yer jammies I was putting in an 8:30A-12P behind an 8:15-8'er on a V8 RWD Pontiac. Have a glass of warm milk and a cookie and click refresh some more, lol. Bill is that the northern lights or did the rainbow searchlight on your engine mount finally go off? More java will sharpen the wit, I'm hopin'.
I did take the GTP down the interstate home instead tonight, usually go through town and save ten miles. She ate it up and remarkably, I was able to see at 2,100 in OD. No amount of relays or retros fix aim, first things first. Fuel filter so the new pump doesn't get mad, then a half hour with the Dremel tool for HL mounting corrections. Then on to eliminating headlight design flaws, someday. Yaaawnzzzzzzzz
Whoa, you need a hug or something? Geez, lol. And yes, I have a blue LED nightlight in my bathroom so I don't piss all over the wall at night. No relays on that though. Whenever you decide to get some headlight relays let me know, I have a little harness I started awhile ago that has weather proof relays and all that.
I'll just leave this latch/unlatch here for you both
http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relaydiagram23.html
Cause Boobs is years late on using relays.
Aw boobs we (you, Bill, Russo, and a few others) are sufficiently acquainted to banter freely, thats all. Just aim for the loudest water lol. I do need a vacation in a huge way but the answer has always been "maybe after xxxxx is done." and theres always another xxxxx. Relays meh. IF they need it maybe. My not having lamps I could weld with might be cuz I can't stand other peoples' excessive lamps. New rides are so ridiculous about that now somebody ought to make a law to stop the madness.
Boobs is way out of control. I used latch/unlatch on Bonne for ..uh.. kicking on fans at the track I think.. The twice I went explains all the work.
Another relay (only one) to defeat the ABS sensors (no TM if it can't see the wheels)
One to kick off the EWP while programming etc
Switch for IC pump
Luckily the Bonne had a large center console
How am I out of control? You even see the schematics on why I've used the relays I do? I have 17 relays, most of which (13) are on the windows so I can control them with the alarm, and I need a 5 pin setup so the factory circuit would work when the relays are deactivated. The other 4 are alarm related or trunk light related so I don't put more load on the factory wiring than it was designed for.
As far as headlight relays, whenever you get around to working on the headlights, check the voltage at the headlight plug with the car running and the lights on (headlights unplugged). Mine was around 10-11V, with freshly cleaned grounds...car runs at 14.6-7V, remember? The relays provide a much shorter and run to the battery with heavier gauge wire, so it can handle more current, which in turn maintains the operating voltage (Ohm's law). Drops the load on the headlight switch from 5+ amps to 50ma, so the switch will last a LOT longer. I don't think the headlight switch is all that big of a deal on these cars, so it's not really a reason to do it just more of an added benefit.
Theres not already a headlight relay stock? I'll be danged. Obviously mine need more juice but the lenses are rotten and cockeyed. Show me how to connect four small round sealed beams and I'll look hard at that sometime. Theres no substitute for having four seperately aimable headlights. If I could bring the 99 HLs up to the lights on the 69 I'd be satisfied. I guarantee voltage is low as of now.
Booba I don't know how you do those crazy work hours sometimes. I'm whooped but so is my project, for now. Today was 9 til 8. Might just dunk my arm in an ice bucket for 3 days and try to freeze it off, lol. Thumb hurts like crazy, something is wrong in there.
Bill, Boobs, anyone... talk me into going to SEMA this year? I still don't wanna even though it would be a Vegas thrill and I could probably find that hug over there. Craving the opposite, peace and quiet. Tired + lazy = Bed > Vegas. Hey maybe theres no dogs barking there ha ha. Mine (feet) would be from walking the show.
Yea, I don't get much sleep lol. Just got off work from another 12 hours. We have Monday off, but I'm going in Monday night (3rd shift's Tuesday) at 7:30PM til 8AM, then 3:30PM to 4AM the rest of the week, except Friday, I actually only will work 8 hours that day.
I know what you mean about the relax part. How many times have you gone? Worth the $ to go? I dunno. It'd be badass to see all the cars and everyone's work they put into it, I'm sure you'd have an appreciation for it all since it's your profession. I'd bet if you took a day and just chilled around the house eating chinese food and watching Star Trek you'd be ready to go on a trip, lol.
Eating Chinese food and binge watching Star Trek for a day would be a trip just by itself. On another planet, even. Dude those hours are unreal, its a factory, right? They ain't bashful about long shifts are they? Seems strange.
Never been to SEMA or even just Vegas. The way I see it, its a company trip that costs me time money and a great deal of energy but does nothing for my career's advancement y'know. Just not something I think I should put ahead of my own ideas of "vacation".
I'm out here about to change fuel filters but have no tool that fits the out end of the new one. A 21 might work but is awful loose, 19 won't fit.
Yes I tried SAE sizes too, no better.
