Looks like another fine weekend to spend fixing the junks...
During the week, the GT got a small amount of action. Swapped in a slightly beefier used battery from the GTP, more fender splash shield repairs, and took a turn out of the RF tie rod. It seems to drive fairly normal but that RF wheel bearing may be noisy. Tight, though. No ABS troubles. As always, I enjoy the lower gears and sloppier converter in a GT. Makes me grin when I romp the gas, and reminds of how little difference the SC makes. Anyway, yeah I picked up DP gaskets for it since I swapped with no new ones hurriedly. Because exhaust leak makes no grin. Need to pick up a coolant level sensor for the GT too. And yeah I am contemplating swapping the 02 rack into it, among other things.
Hit the JY yesterday after work but it was a bust. The fender I was after had been damaged since I last saw it. A pity. There was a Northstar up for grabs though. Had just et a bellyfull of BBQ when I went, so I didn't spend long. Still keeping my eyes peeled for extending sunvisors in graphite. Still no rails to be found but there was one nice OE style aftermarket tail lamp there. However the hassle to get in the trunk wasn't worth it so its still there.
The GTP... I picked up another bottle of SC oil because 2 quite didn't top mine off when I changed it. Forecast calls for WP, new coupler or 02 S/C swap, and LIM jobs on that one, but I have stuff for a TB clean today. Speaking of nabbing 02 parts, oil pan. Keep forgetting the 99 is bent. I'm inclined to replace injector O-rings now but might wait until LIM time. Sure is a lot of debris built up around the injector holes, but man the O-rings you get seem like a ridiculously awful fit. Haven't had them out of a GTP, saying that because my exp with the GT when I broke an injector tip a little.
If I go to the parts store today I'll pick up some more rattle clear and move towards the tail lamp painting I have in mind. Also more attachment tape, because I think I've decided I want the extractors and tray from the 40th on my 99. Without modifying them. Just cut hood, fix tray, paint, install sans emblems. Having that done would push me towards using that 40th lid n spoiler. I think for that look to work I need all the elements in place. Plus tint. Venting underhood heat makes enough sense to me to go to the trouble.
The 69GP- Due for oil change and I have the stuff. Could use a new power steering belt while I'm in, and for that matter a trans service is way overdue. And here I sit, typing. Five days of talkin bout it ain't worth five minutes of doing it. Off I go-
