Alright, so I've finally got the motor broke in. There is an issue however.. When I go 80% throttle or more the motor kind of stutters. Also i'm seeing a few degrees of KR which confuses me because I'm running a stock pulley with headers. Maybe 1.9 rockers would kill the KR? Anways the stutter is what is bugging me most because its ruining the power and I honestly don't want to drive it any faster than an old lady until I get it figured out.. I have an aeroforce gauege so i can take readings with it to help you guys help me, I just don't know what to look for. I'd appreciate any help because I am confused at this point. I can post a video or a sound clip of it later but i thought id post here quick to get the ball rolling on solving this issue.
P.s. I was trying to think of a good way to describe what i mean by "stutter"... its like if someone was trying to run but they kept stepping on rocks.
Looking forward to the vid, when you get a chance, of course.
i think Im going to take one in a few minutes here. I really want to get this issue solved. hopefully some guys can chime in with advice or tips on where to start looking.
Bad BBV? Unplug the solenoid and try again.
You can still get KR with headers and a stock pulley. Especially you on high compression. A tune would definitely benefit the car as well.
Check your LTFTs for a Vacuum Leak.
by unplug do you mean disconnect the vac line running to the BBV? mine isn't controlled by the PCM as it is a topswap. I've checked everywhere and no vac leaks, but idk what LTFTs would be so maybe i missed something there? lol.
If you have a vac leak, your LTFTs will be stuck at 16.4 at idle.
And yeah, unplug the vac line to it.
Here is a quick vid that i took a day or so ago. cant find my camera now. Its not as noticeable in this vid as I was being clever with the throttle in order to avoid it happening, but you can here a couple blips of the strutter just before reaching 35 MPH.
It is much worse than this if im not careful and go into wot. as in really bad IMO
Sure you can take your blower belt off. If it's gone, I bet it's your BBV. If it's still there, it could be fuel related possibly?
Unplug the electrical harness from the BBV and try again. Leave the vac line on though.
If you're hesitant just remember that my MP112 kit had a BBV and there was no electrical connector on it at all. It'll be fine.
whats a few degrees, 2-3, or 5-7
