Don't overdo it with the purple

I don't think I'm over doing it, pretty much everything I painted you can't even see anyway. The roof rails and the grilles are the only think you can actually see
You think its to much already??
Who approved of this Barney nonsence???? Lol
I do not approve!!!!!! Lol
Horny... I don't approve of said nonsense either. And I'll tell you something that might help somehow in a way that might not somehow hurt... yeah it might be a little heavy on the accent color. But I have plain preferences and think most underhood color use is tasteless. No jab intended, and its your car so you have the only opinion that matters. As someone with some training in the use of color, I salute your restraint in using purple on the outside. But purple is LOUD in an "accented neutral" theme, especially your chosen hue. So personally I think you could dial it back some now, under the hood. Consider painting just the edge of a part instead of the whole thing, for example. For a refined look, only paint the right things for max effect. Look at other acccented neutrals for cues and over-dos. If you ever considered purple wheels, you may be at the point of no return already lol.
I think the grilles would look better with just the outside edge purple. Sincerely trying to be helpful, I have suffered the purple stigma before. Enjoy making the GTP your own.
before i start here i might ramble and jump all over with my thoughts so sorry in advance lol Junk Guy-- i appreciate anyones opinion casue like you said it is my car so the final decision is up to me. i do not take any offense in anything you said. i agree that purple is a loud color but believe it or not that purple is actually pretty dark. if you noticed the roof rails are barely noticed in the pics because the purple is dark. i understand accenting something and not going overboard because this is a GP not a ricer mobile, which is exactly why i kinda kept the craziness of the purple under the hood were i can see it and enjoy it and added a few touches on the exterior so i can have that nice little touch i can see all the time also. i have not thought of doing my rims purple, i wanted them black and they are black now. some of the pics like the one with the supercharger make the purple look obnoxious but its really not that bad. but i dont need to keep trying to defend the purple cause it is what it is and i like it and dont plan on going super crazy other then what i already have done.
what is this purple stigma you have suffered through??
sincerely thanks for your opinion and not being a douche about it haha
Aw, some folks like to make fun of purple things. I'm sure Bill's fire-breathing dinosaur sig and my purple 69 GP have both been laughed at by someone sometime. My color tuned out purple-er than I wanted because when I made it the sun was hiding behind clouds for a couple weeks straight. I just mainly wanted it all one color. The coolest thing about purple though, is that our eyes cannot see it so our mind has to conjure it. So it is an imagined color and everyone may not imagine it the same. I can explain but will spare ya unless yer curious or clueless on that. Pictures don't always translate a look adequately, agreed on that too. Anytime I can avoid being a feminine hygiene product, I will, lol.
lmao a feminine hygiene product!! priceless comment! go ahead and explain always fun to learn something new, especially about my favorite color, which you are now telling me isnt a color at all!! noooooo! hah its pretty stupid that someone would laugh at your 69 GP considering it is a classic it deserves respect no matter the color in my opinion. but some people are "feminine hygiene products" and dont appreciate the value of a car like that, so f*ck them honestly!
Oh don't get the wrong idea, I think fem hygiene is very important lol. Y'know how there's invisible light like infrared and ultraviolet? And sounds that we ca'nt hear but dogs can? Well all the colors in the spectrum that we are able to see fit within a specific range of light ray wave lengths... but blue and red are what make purple, right? Those two colors are the "bookends" of our range of wavelengths of light that we can see. When you see green, you are seeing yellow and blue rays blending together. When you see orange, thats yellow and red blending. But at opposite ends of the visible spectrum sits blue and red. SO-when you see something in between blue and red, your mind has to imagine that because the wavelengths of those two are not neighbors on the color wheel. Follow that? Color theory 101 ha.
Mostly guys who would poke fun at the GP are the ones that have an actual performance car that isn't the coolest thing in sight after mine enters the scene... yeah, thats it!
5 minutes, more understandable, prolly TMI:
