Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Installion could be wrong on the rockers.
I have those exact rockers. 1.9 Harland Sharps. They are great rockers if you get the revised set.
There's a small dot on the pedastal, that needs to be facing the valve stem. Also, go back and check everything. Such as:
1: Locks are completely seated on the on valve tip.
2: Recheck the springs/retainers, maybe?
3: Double check the pushrods if any are bent and make sure they are seated perfectly on the back of the rockers and seated on the lifter.
4: Recheck the rocker bolt torque, using blue loctite as well.
5: Cracked plug. As I cracked one when doing this install as well.
Basically you just need to pop the valve covers off and make everything is perfect. One little thing could be causing the misfire.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Do I have to use loctite?

You should. Don't use red loctite, that's permanent.
Use blue loctite.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I didn't see anything about loctite in the write up I used.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Out of all things I posted to help you out, you single out loctite. I've been told numerous times to use. And when I did it, I used it. My car runs amazing. Not saying loctite is the problem at all. There can be a million factors that's causing the misfire. Time to get your hands dirty again.
Always start simple. Recheck plugs, wires, coils, injectors. Then remove the valve covers and check everything.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I think I may have pinched a wire in the coil pack harness. I'm gonna go over everything when I get out of work.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I don't get it. The wires in the harness look fine. I replaced the spark plug wire. The spark plug looks fine. One of the rockers was off center slightly but that didn't change anything.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
It runs perfectly fine cruising no misses at all.
But the second I get on it, cylinder 1 is like ... naah.
No DTC besides the misfire one and the cat code.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Swap the plug with another. Just cause it looks good doesn't mean it is
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I was doing that as you were writing this post.
... still no beans. Im out of ideas.

Thats the only logical solution.
Swapped the coil pack around to see if the miss moved. It did not.
Im thinking ICM now.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Autozone tests em fo free
Sent from BFE
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Ill be doing just that after class today.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I have a couple of extra ICM's. if you need another lol.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
I would take you up on your offer... but I'm not sure I would want to wait if that is the problem.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
Do a compression test.
Get a live feed scanner and check for vac leaks as well.
Have you just replaced the one plug or one wire? I'd also venture to ask if you're using Comp bolts or factory TTY bolts.
TTY bolts are half the torque of the Comp bolts, FYI.

I would like to thank you for the false info. You must have been thinking pcm.
Re: Jomamma's Bagged Red 97 GTP ( WHEELS ARE ON)
hes right, most test icm's. for free. some autozones are lazy or clueless employees.

I have an aeroforce. How do you think I know where the miss is?
Comp bolts torqued to proper spec.
