The wipers can move by hand but not easily. And I can't move them to the parked position.
Also, I don't have a gear puller.

are both wiper arms moving when you pull on one of them? if so thats a wiper tranny issue.
Yes, if I move them I have to move them together.

ok then new plan of attack.
you need to get both arms off, then the cowl, then check the wiper tranny out. sounds like it popped off the wiper motor. if its like other gm cars and trucks its got plastic clips that break and the tanny linkage falls off.
put stead up pressure under the wiper arm. then tap the threads of the stud there. you can put the nut back on a few turns to protect the threads.
I'll try that after work today, if it's not already raining.
Okay, I destroyed the puller trying to get the wiper arms off. So I ended up using a pry bar and a hammer.
I had the arms off like 5 times. The bolt that connected the motor to the trans was spinning. So I tightened that.
Now, when the wipers are on, the wipe extends down all the way to the parked position and doesn't extend to the full up position.
When the wipers go to park themselves, they go up the the middle of the windshield then down a few inches. It is far from the parked position.

sounds like the park stop thing under the cowl is bent. theres a few threads that cover that. its a metal tab that gets bent back in place.
found a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYHN4WSxZP8
I saw the metal tab. But I don't think that's the issue.
In the video, when the wipers park the whole mechanism does this spinny thing. Mine didn't do that. Maybe I tightened that torx bolt too much preventing it from doing that.

maybe the arms are not where they belong, loosen them both back up, cycle the wiper motor, when the motor parks, bolt the arms down in the down position.
That's exactly what I did.
I just need to tear into it again and make sure everything behaves like it does in that video.
At least they work for now in case it rains.
