Awe wook at da whittle battery, it's so roomy in there I'm sure you could throw a quart of motor oil, some power steering fluid and a gallon of coolant, and a toolbox, a jack and your spare in there.

7V huh, it just needed a little charge. Man when the one in my car died I had tested it 2 days before and was showing 650CCA then 2 days later it tripped the car out and did the whole battery saver mode and all. I go measure it again it was 34 CCA. That's when I shoehorned that monster from the PA in there. I'm going to go back to a regular sized battery after this one dies, hopefully not soon I need to get DHP.

I heard that. I'm ordering mine Monday. I'm sitting here with 5 days off waiting for parts to get here or wondering what project I could start with what I have. Next week they're talking about us working 6 days, so this is going to be one of those times where now I have plenty of time, but when I have parts I'll have no spare time. I'll come home to car parts just staring at me. Oh and kids. My kids and wife might be there, too.

Buying a new battery, for you, must be like when I buy a hammer. Lots of "hmm, how bout this one" involved. You gotta be fanatical about at least one thing, right?

Pretty much. I want the best I can get for the money. I hate it when I buy something then the next day I find something else that is better that I could have used. The ONLY thing the larger battery had on the AGM battery was the 75 more CCA. This won't matter here in a bit because I'll have an 850CCA in the trunk only a flip of a switch away from being combined with the front battery giving me 1625 CCA. If that won't turn over my little 3800 I don't know what will.

Even being rather un-scientific, two battery setups have always made sense to me. Benz guys called one the cranking battery. When I got it, the 69 it had this gigantor under seat behemoth in it. Anyway, two six volt Optimas on the side has been the choice for a couple recent builds and I see but don't pretend to understand. I assume for clearance on those apps.

Since I don't run a front passenger seat, I was playing with the idea of relocating the battery box to inside the footwell for better weight distribution. Frain Bart.

Running the second battery won't be all that hard, I already have 2 4 AWG wires run to the trunk for the stereo, fused at the front battery. I'll splice in a continuous duty solenoid I have into those to isolate the batteries when the car is off, add fuses within 18 inches of the rear battery, then run a fused power wire from the rear battery to the amplifier setup. I'll just tap into a "hot in run" wire to trigger the solenoid to connect the 2 batteries, and have a switch setup to also trigger the solenoid manually if need be.

Just use a SPDT switch for that use the common to h center and a hot at all times one of the other terminals and a ign switched source for the other side that was you can leave it in the ign position most of the time and if the battery is dead switch constant hot when you need it.

Well, **** just got real. I bought a laptop. It's a quad core AMD A6 with R4 graphics, 4 GB of DDR3, 500GB HDD, and a 17 inch screen. It came with Windows 10, but I downgraded back to Windows 7. 10 sucked, a LOT. Monday the AVT box gets ordered so...

We actually went out last night and bought it. One benefit of living in a small town, the swamped Walmart here is like a normal Walmart back in Phoenix, lol. Everyone is pretty nice and courteous to each other for the most part too We picked up this laptop, 5 hard back books for the kiddos, a bike for my son, 30 colored sharpies, and a few other odds and ends. Took about an hour, and we were hardly in a rush.

    ^ This.

Had this type of set-up in the Bronco; was so nice when the main battery was getting low. I used a momentary switch to toggle the solenoid when needed. Here is my schematic....

I went to FB, and listened to some music on Youtube (while I was looking for a copy of 7 on my main PC)...nothing else. Literally the first time I turn the laptop on. I started getting pop ups. Then things gradually started crashing here and there giving me random issues until I finally got a Windows 7 to install off of a USB drive.

For pop ups? lol. I have another 4GB of memory on the way for $18, and the only other laptops on sale were Celerons. I think this will handle anything I want to use it for. Windows 7 is running fine, for the 4 hours I've had it running, lol.
