Well my wrenching buddy no showed today, so I called another friend who showed up and helped me out. Took a bit long than expected because he had never done it, I had to pull the valve body, and installing the Sonnax TCC Valve took FOREVER. I'm really glad I replaced the 4th shaft, thrust washers, and clutch pack...they all showed quite a bit of wear. The 4th splines were damn near GONE, the steels showed the beginning of leoparding, and the metal thrust washer was showing brass. I didn't get everything done today, but the transmission is buttoned back up and done. Here's some pics from today, but I'll have a few more tomorrow:

did you have to disassemble the valve body to put the sonnax valve in?
Yes I did. Luckily the gasket stayed in one piece so I didn't need another one. If I had one I would have replaced it, but I didn't I still replaced the channel plate gaskets even though the old ones were fine. I have the old subframe out, that thing is HEAVY compared to the aluminum one but it still has the LCAs and sway bar on it though. For now I took a break to hang out with my pops and we're building an 02 simulator for the rear 02...So if all goes well...I can put my SES light bulb back in and it'll stay off! That's a milestone for this car, lol. Pics of the subframe:

Yep, I cut the pigtail off of my old 02 sensor, and soldered this up. After that I just needed to put it in a project box. Originally I was going to thermal epoxy it all down to an Xbox 360 heatsink I have, then normal epoxy over the connections and such to seal it up. My dad came up with this box, and since it's aluminum it'll cool it just fine. I think he got it at Radioshack, which is where I bought everything else for the project.
Thanks, but I've got to find a non $1400 fix to this problem before the end of June, lol. I found a used transmission in Joplin with 100k on it, so we'll see if that pans out. I also have a parts 2000 GT so I might be able to pull the valve body\channel plate off of it, clean it up, and swap it over.
Well, I tracked down a Sonnax upgraded valve body and channel plate, looks to be the same stuff that TEP does to their valve bodies and channel plate. Fedex says it'll get here tomorrow, so I'm taking Friday off of work for the install. Here soon I might rebuild the control arms on the car, but only because it needs an alignment from taking the subframe, tie rods, and ball joints off so many times. I can always rebuild the ones on the parts car and just swap them in so the car won't be down for long.
As cheap as new control arms are I would just get a new set instead of going through the hassle of swapping bushings.
My friends grandpa has a press for the front and the rear bushing is a 2 piece. I haven't looked lately, but last a saw there wasn't pre-made arm with the Moog Problem Solver bushing in it. Those looked pretty cool, they actually have a joint in them:

Okay, so I have the new valve body installed, along with the new channel plate and all that. It has a pretty harsh shift into 2nd, but I'm hoping that is the PCM adapting and\or the valve body lubricating itself again. I'm going to disconnect my battery and leave it tonight to see if that changes anything, if not a friend of mine has a Tech II. Other than that occasional harsh shift, it shifts noticeably faster and behaves quite a bit better, but I'm convinced that it's fixed. The TCC oscillation is damn near gone if it is even there, there has only been 1 or 2 times that I think I might have felt something. If I did feel something, it is a small fraction of what it was. In total, I have a new EPC and TCC PWM solenoid I don't even need, swapped out my subframe to an aluminum one for no apparent reason (causing the need for an alignment), and tore into the transmission 3 times to get to the point I'm at now. Here's some pics of the valve body, channel plate, and inside of the transmission:

I'd be able to help for sure, if I wasn't 4-5 hours away, lol. I need some reliable wrenching buddies. This project I basically did by myself. I had one friend (that said he'd help with the entire project) stop by for about an hour, but that was mostly a trip to Walmart because I forgot to buy transmission fluid before I tore my car down, lol. I actually attempted to siphon out the transmission fluid that was in there before (since it was only a week old), but a mouth full of transmission fluid changed that plan.
L67ss, I got it at Buddy's, I think it was an 03 Impala IIRC, Jarrod still had that credit and owes me money for my old rims\tires, ixo facto, I have a credit at buddy's. Originally, I thought hey, I already have to drop the subframe, how hard could it be to just drop it out totally? Yea, it's still a *****. Nothing I couldn't handle, but more frustrating than I thought. On top of that, I was going to do an aluminum oil pan, but they were all out of those. Damn it.
My car has kind of adapted a running joke though, everything slices tomatoes in 17 different ways. The aluminum frame is lighter, won't rust, more rigid, and slices tomatoes in 17 different ways. The headers flow better, sound better (ish), look better, kill KR (so far), and slice tomatoes in 17 different ways. You get the idea.
