You know what I've heard really good things about the 9007's they seem to work all the time every time.
Jeff
Brownies in the fridge at work, I'll get them tomorrow!
Redundant relays maybe haha. You know what's funny? All of the relays I have used haven't gone bad. This is actually the only relay setup to go bad and it was premade, lol.
Thanks for the list red, I'll see what I can't find on what cars they come in so I know what to look for at JYs and such.
Trunk battery is installed and everything seems great! I used the DRL circuit since I don't have DRLs anymore, and it is hot in run only. This means whenever the key is in accessory the batteries are disconnected so I can listen to music all I want without killing the front battery. I swear the stereo sounds better, but I'll admit I haven't listened to it in a few weeks. Here's some pics.
3 of these holding the box in, battery drops right in at a slight angle:

I had a few different ideas on what circuit to tap into before I settled on the DRL...

Ended up using a 2 AWG wire off the truck for a ground, I cut it and soldered new ends on it, grounding at the same point as the Orion amp:

All done, almost:

Tomorrow I have to secure all the STB stuff in the trunk I loosened to move the sub around and put the back seat in, that's it...Then AVT box gets here Monday.
I hate it when that happens with the pics... wake up and fix it so's we can see whut ya done Boobs. Just once you should spend one entire afternoon bumping with all the doors open at a car wash vacuum spot... then blow everyone away by starting it right up and fusing their retinas with LEDs. I'm sure your install is super-neat. This is a mod that could actually potentially save a life in certain conditions so its worth the weight if you ask me.
Damn it!
Fixed
Looks like that'll work slick. Access might be tight with seat bolted in but the trunk space is wide open always. No nuts, or wing nuts on the seat back might be wise... for fast tool-free access should a need arise. Might also not hurt to load the seat with kiddos and visually confirm no wire pinching can occur anywhere along the new harness. My junk has a length of old garden hose that I split, around the big cables under the carpet.
I bet you could fwap away with a Waytek catalog. Thinking my boss is a dealer maybe. Anyway I look at your pics and the red and blue insulation against the white is striking for sure. May or may not be a theme per se. But if you had a bunch of different kinds of their expandable and split braided cable sleeving (Flexo F6, Techflex, etc. goog it if unfamiliar), you might go ape on the car. Wonder what it would look like if you had a black engine bay, old school style. Black plumbing, cables, and harnesses could blend in better and help other stuff stand out more.
Happy trails, on the dark side tuning adventure. Other day me and Dad were discussing using a cog belt driven HEI on the L67 with a boost carb where most folks put intercoolers. Thats probably the only way I could "tune" one. I'll try to watch and learn from your experience, maybe mental barriers can fall after all. Got to be more fun than messin with headlights!
The battery actually dropped in rather easily, I had my friend in the back seat just in case, but he didn't do anything. I have 04+ back seats anyways, so the entire back seat folds down. They also have a little channel to run wires through, I'll have to take a pic to show you. The red wire is a little on the tight side, so I don't know if it'll get run through there, but I'll be keeping and eye on it.
The red and blue thing isn't really a theme, but I guess it did kinda come out that way, lol. I have some really cool heat shrink stuff I just got from Jeff, so I think I'll be putting that on next time I disconnect the battery and alternator at the same time. A slight wire tuck is in the future, too. I'm going to end up flipping my TB and adapter upside down for hood clearance when I get an IC (Gen V has a 4 bolt flange so I can just flip everything over and bolt back on), so I'm going to pull all the wiring that runs to EGR and TB sensors and reroute it around to the back side. All the sensors will be facing that way anyways, so it should work pretty well. It's one of those things that looks like it'll work great...in my head.
Yeah you're the man with the plan! I'd like to see more details on the 04+ rear seat difference.
Here ya go. At least the main differences. You ride a hair higher, but I'm 6'1" and I have plenty of room above my head. The passenger front fold flat, and has a little net, which will be awesome for tuning, because touchscreen. Net down the laptop\AVT box, touch start for data logging, and away I go. Both back seats fold down, giving access to the entire trunk, too.

I need new seat belts for back here...

Dang I did not know all this about those. Never researched. Like / want. But I also like my current arrangement. Yours will come in handy, I like the fold down front seat. Extra set of graphite rear belts in da house, wut else you need?
Roof rails, lol. Just kidding. I'm actually headed up to the JY next weekend, but if you have some...how much do you want for the rear latches?
Door latches? No, coupe.
No I mean the seat beat buckles, my bad. lol.
U can haz.
Sweet, but I've already seen all these. Did you get the red wire to straighten out? Nice title change.
Jeff
That's so bright that it'll cast French fries shadows on the door panels.
If you dropped a contact on the floor you would burn a hole in a door or B pillar.
lol I said something similar about his LED's. I made him get a Waytek catalog but I think he's scared to look in it because he'll have to give up his first born.
Jeff
The wire you sent? Yep, fit the connectors perfectly, it's the 2 4 AWG runs from the trunk battery to the amp distribution.
