I used to never see below 200+ until I figured out how to turn the fans down. Even with the 04 gtp 1" radiator it was still 200+.
When it was cooler I would cruise at about 188 and could even see the thermostat cycle some and that was with the 190* stat, but now it's just freaking hot. I have noticed that if I turn off the AC that the temp will come down, so that tells me I am at the ragged edge for this radiator. I thing when the radiator was replaced by the previous owner they just went with a 5/8" core and called it good.

Well she's all done and back together. I took her for a cruise around the block and noticed no difference...other than the transmission heating up quicker. Not HOT, but it got to 110*F when normally it would have gotten to 70-80*F. At least she's running and back together again, lol.

So you went standalone and it got hotter?

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
No I'm trying is a few different ways, For now it's the same way the factory 9C1 is. IIRC it's opposite what I normally like, Trans->cooler->Radiator->Trans. I typically like Trans->Radiator->Cooler->Trans. If my temps stay around where they were before I'll be happy with this setup. It would be nice to have the transmission warm up faster in the winter. I'm driving up to Springfield tomorrow to return these fans so we'll see how it does. So far no leaks, which was another goal.
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Finally got around to installing LEDs under the hood. They were left over from the trunk, so it was a free mod. Cleaned the install surfaces really well with rubbing alcohol, and it seems like it'll stay pretty well. I tapped into the hood switch for the remotre start so they shut off when the hood is latched, but pop on right as you pop the hood:

It's pretty bright, I'll give it that. I dunno if I'll add more later on or not:

You can see the hood switch here:

No flash in any of these pictures.
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Man that's so much light you could change brakes on your car with only the hood open!

This was cake work, 2 wires lol. I had to drill 2 holes in the hood, but that was it.
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Thread needs a name change to "Light and Relay addiction!" :D
That or 2000 GTP: Rolling Disco
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Lol. I think the lighting and the relays are nearing an end, actually. I have a few loose ends to tie up, but I'll be saving up for the rocker panels and transmission. SOmething isn't right with it. The 1-2 shift has never really been that great to me. Acceptable 70% of the time, but under part throttle it's still very jolting. It might be my tune, but when I'm slowing down in 3rd or 4th (35+MPH) Right before I get to a stop I hear what is sort of a grinding noise. Very similar to a bad A\C clutch, but it's not my A\C clutch. Only happens in gear, not neutral. I'm okay with it I guess, I said the partial rebuild I did last year was only temporary until I can replace everything. This way I can get a ratcheting 3rd sprag, as well as a 7\8" chain setup. First comes the rockers though...then AVT so I can set the tune up for the 3.29s I'll have.

If only they had some sort of portable handheld device that emitted light in a specific direction. Oh well, maybe someday.
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
One day, one day...
Every time I look at your car I am like I really need to step up my game, I open the trunk or hood think "If only I had a better light source in here like Booba." I am going to have to order me some nice white lights strips to go around. I don't understand why they don't put hood lights in these cars.

I wanna say it was $13 for 15 feet of light and I still have 2 feet left over I'm giving to a buddy for helping me with the hood lights stuff. The trunk needs some finishing, I gotta cut the strip and solder some leads from one strip to another. They don't make corners so well. You'll probably want to use gorilla snot to glue it up there, too.
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
One of my friends worked for a sign company and used them and they came on a roll. I ended up with some red strips that you just solder a couple of wires on and it. I used it for my RC car so we could drive at night, I used 3 Lion cells from laptop batteries I salvaged to power them . I need to get an order in to Waytek for some loom anyway. I think I saw some in their catalog last time I looked. Have you had any time to mess with the 555 project? I found my IC timer cookbook, I'll find you a good schematic tonight when I get home. I think I have the parts as well so you might have something coming in the mail soon...
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Lol that sounds good to me! I ended up getting a refund from the guy on it since I put DOA in the feedback, lol. I still have the board itself laying around here. I needed to measure resistance from pin 1 of that pot to ground, right?
Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.
Throw that thing in the trash and let me send you something that works. Or take some parts off of it to recycle into something useful.
