Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
I had the same issue with mine being orange in the cutoff, I'm assuming its a shield issue, if i mess with the bulbs and throw the hotspot way high it turns nice and blue/purple across the cutoff but the cutoff bows upwards, but when i have them where they are supposed to be i have blue around the step but orange around the rest of the cutoff. Honestly I've had crap luck with the xb bulbs and wish i wouldn't have recommended after i had issues, the the alignment on my set was piss poor and even the ones classy sent me to rma were bad. The bulb is seating correct and everything.

It looks like it, it should have a nice glass circle around the return wire i think.
Best pic i got of mine http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...9d9c2ffef0.jpg

I pulled the headlight, since i finished the fuel pump on the PT and this is what I'm fixing today...Here's a better pic of the bulb not going all the way in...

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
He said that the chip won't matter. I have babied these bulbs since I got them. My kids aren't aloud within 5 feet of them, so I KNOW I didn't do it. If it doesn't affect the output, that's fine I guess.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
Yeah you might have to trim those tabs so they sit flush against the bowl, I had the same issue.

Actually it looks like the bulb holder isnt on right unless I'm looking at it wrong.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
I have to use the other bulb holder that comes with them. The holes don't quite line up, but I think I got it. Glad posted output pics, this ought to make a good difference, right?

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
Weird, my bulb holder the flat part is almost level with the back of the bowl but i think its just the angle throwing me off. It should make a noticeable difference or at least mine did mostly because there was so much foreground in my case it would light up the inside of the car and strain my eyes. Plus it should get rid of that orange I would think.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
Here's where I'm at now, I don't want to force it in (without spitting on it) so I'll take it apart again to see what could be holding it out. I'm gettin super irritated at it right now (and this POS laptop), so I'm gonna step back and "calm down" for a minute, lol.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
I had to shave almost half the little tab away for them to slide in correctly its a pain. I used a super sharp exacto blade and made sure i cut my finger open in the process lol

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
Got them all back together. In my defense I did notice this during the build, but I figured since the clips didn't fit the weren't the right one, lol. I though that it was just where the bulb was supposed to be. Oh well, live and learn. This is why I keep the spare parts for awhile, lol. I've made dumbass mistakes before (plenty), I think my only mistake here wasn't asking about it and assuming, lol. Here they are now:

Cheeba cheeba. Man theres got to be a better way to do this headlight conversion. You guys will laugh, but what exactly da f is retros? 04+ headlight guts in a 97-03 housing? I'd want to find a way to get two bulbs in there, screw the little ring around the headlight deal. Guilty of zippin right past anything that says retros on it lol Really can't stand vehicles with the horizontal bar of headlight, they are annoying to me.
Booba I'm kinda hoping you're back to plain ol bonding on the rockers, cuts for the tab idea are probably too intricate to be worth making it removeable anyway, time-wise. Maybe I sat in the Chebby too long. Its feasible, just advanced and time consuming.
On your strut tower fix you had mentioned iffy-ness about getting it in the right place. Of course you'll probably take before measurements referencing the package tray, but there may be another way to double check that if you run a strut tower brace up front. I believe GMPP strut tower braces are same # for front and rear. Meaning if a tower brace fits, you're probably OK. Just a thought.

Idrivejunk
Basically modifying your headlight to fit a projector like what you tend to see on newer cars like the Maximas, Lexus etc eliminates the glare you'll get when you install pnp hid kit that relies on the headlight reflector.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, And RUST!
Basically a retrofit consists of taking a HID projector using magic and curse words you get it to fit in a usually stock headlight housing and this is the result. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...ea69503a24.jpg

Thanx brethren I stand enlightened ha ha. So its not necessarily parts robbed from any specific car. I'd still like a lo and hi/lo beam with two bulbs for deer spotting goodness in the hills. If I ever get back to night cruisin I'll see the need to make something up. Saw something on adaptive headlights on new BMWs I think it was, they are getting pretty high tech but I swear sealed beams lit the road just fine for nearly a century.
