Usually I've seen that around a certain speed (55ish mph) the rear end makes alittle noise, but drop/raise the speed and the sound goes away.

I just took it for an oil change. This is how it looks without the cover, the gears don't look terribly wrong I think, the magnet on the cover did have a lot of crap all over it though. We used 90 gear oil and I couldn't get a hold of a limited slip additive so I used just some regular "anti friction" additive until I get the good stuff. I just drove it for a couple of miles and it is a lot more quiet, I can still hear it but it's not loud at all and it doesn't sound all the time, just under light acceleration when cruising. I'm not sure what to do next haha. We have a long weekend coming up so I can't pull the rear end until next week. I guess I'll drive it like that for a while.

I took it for a ride, I didn't notice anything new except when I got back home. The entrance to my garage has a very stiff ramp so I have to get in diagonally. It started making this noise when I went in, it sounds like it's finally done for. I'm not moving it anymore until I take it to the shop.
I haven't updated in a while so here it goes:
The rear end is rebuilt with the GM 3.23 gears. The cracking noise on the video was due to the lack of limited slip additive.
I got a new set of hankook ventus v2 tires 245/50/16 traction improved a lot, I guess the old ones were useless. It should be ready to take it to the track next week.
This weekend's project was to adapt an acer iconia tablet to the dash, I'm very pleased with the outcome:

I finally took it to the track. It picked up around 4 tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile, not too bad for such a tiny cam. It can still be improved a little, the 1->2 shift was going in too early and the nose dropped past 4k RPM in second. I don't take the tuner with me so I didn't know why.

The track is the best place to have the tuner with you...
pfft, I just need to drive fast enough so rain doesn't hit the engine directly. And no this region actually never sees snow hehe. It literally snows every 100 years but just for a few minutes and last time was like 15 years ago.

Now this is the real reason why I have no hood for the next few days:
The WS6 model didn't come out in Mexico so it's very hard to get an original hood here. I hope my ghetto ws6 hood turns out right.

Yeah I like them with stripes too, but I'm not sure if I'm doing those right now or not. I want to see it without them first and maybe later on mock up some dark blue or black stripes on it and see how it looks. It's not so expensive to have those done later on around here.
here's how it looks so far, I like it:
They are working on opening the intake vents and doing some more for heat extraction too on the rear. I got some nice ricer grill sheet for the front holes also, just need to paint it black.
Why not just buy new hood?
