not a stock ls6 cam
^ Exactly all that.
I'm not sure if can handle a real cam, it may be too real for me. Anyway I'm done modding this N/A engine, you don't get that many gains at this altitude. Take the GTP for example, it ran 16.5 stock and it ended up running 14.2 with the mods in my sig. That's more than 2 seconds, the Trans Am ran 15.1 stock, now it runs 13.9 at best with the mods in my signature also.
I've seen fbodies run low 12's or even 11's here, but those guys are running ls2 or ls3 swapped engines with heads, a real cam and nitrous. Which is far away of my idea of a daily driver. I mean sometimes I still put my 8 month baby on the back seat with my wife and the stroller in the hatch and the ride is still nice enough ride for the baby to sleep lol. Go family Trans Am!
Is that why you got rid of the grand prix? Wife was annoyed with having to get into the trunk all the time... with the stroller???
We finally got rid of the lame Mitsubishi outlander and got a Chevrolet Captiva sport 3.6 vvt I think they come with 250hp or so. Way better truck than the Outlander in every aspect and more fun to drive. But we had a couple of days that we only had the Trans Am to move around.
I took a couple of beers with me to the basement the other night and painted the wheels in silver. I also changed the 8000k HIDs for 6000k, I think it looks better with the car being white. Also the old 8000k Xentec ballasts are a lot less brighter than the new ones, those really are crap. Anyway the new Captiva that we bought came with HIDs in the high and low beams so I replaced the high beam bulbs with regular halogen bulbs and now I've got a bunch of HID spare parts. The new 6000k HID kit on the Trans Am would also flicker just like the old one did, but then I replaced one of the ballasts with one from the truck high beams so now I have a different ballast brand on each side and the flicker is completely gone on both sides! If I use the same brand of ballast on both sides, no matter what brand it will flicker, different brand on each side and the flicker is gone :th_scratchhead:
The wheels shine a lot more than they do in the pictures, It's cloudy right now and you can't appreciate it well.

Lookin good!
I made this before and after comparison of the car and showed it to my wife, she said that there wasn't that much difference. Then I understood why in some countries they throw acid at women's faces :th_biggrin2:

Looks great !!!! jus needs some ccws............
If you want to shave some time off in the 1/4, throw a stall converter in. Best bang for the buck if you are worried about time at the strip. However, there are big differences in the quality so don't just buy anything. Plus, let them know how the car is driven. You may want a milder converter if you DD drive it.
Converters are nice, just need to tune for them and get a healthy tranny cooler......and decent tires.
I loved my Yank 3600 for DD but i dont mind my Circle D 4000 either just wish i had better tires for it for the street. BTW my 10bolt is still holding up (knocking on wood)
Another thing too my stock rebuilt 4L60e lasted only a year with the yank and it had a cooler, jus sayin
yeah I've heard that a converter is an easy way to knock .50 seconds off your E/T, I might consider that in the future. Right now I was thinking on other options like an underdrive pulley and carbon fiber bucket seats depending on the total weight of those. The trans am front seats are like 45lbs each. I'm planning on removing the passenger and rear seats and take it to the track and see how it runs, that should give me an idea of what will happen if I replace them with lighter seats. not to mention that they look great:

Yep, get a quality converter, cooler, and a tranny temp guage.
You ran a Circle D? I live about 10 minutes from them and always assumed they were just real big with all of the Texas crowd. Tehy are real good guys and put out quality work. I just never knew people so far away used them.
At last we had some sun light. I did the rear fascia the other night, I was hoping to order the Pontiac overlays from ebay but those damn Canadians won't ship their sh1t to Mexico so I'll have to do it by hand, hopefully this weekend.
I spray painted the wheels the other day and it looks like it's going to fade more sooner than later, but I like the extra bling on them so I'm going to have them chrome finished once they do fade.
