hey man nice car, looks about like mine!, anyway a few months ago my HUD went out, the spring tore though a this little plastic piece of the housing if i remember right, anyway i tore it out and was able to fix it for almost nothing, the HUD units really only have this one weak spot as far as i know, before you go out and replace yours look into getting it fixed it really wasn't hard and the way i fixed it it will never break again

Yeah our cars are like clones same color and everything. Except yours has mods and goes much faster lol.

But with the HUD I am aware of the spring is broken from the lever but that is not all whats wrong with it. The actual lever snapped completed and the motor does not make any sounds when you press the HUD controls.

My uncle who owns a GM dealership in upstate NY will be ordering me a brand new HUD free of charge and hopefully have it done in August if he can get the part.

Plus I rather have his GM certified mechanics do it since I do not feel like ripping apart the dash and stuff to get to a HUD that is beyond repair since I could damage electronics in the process after fixing allot of stuff with the car.

You don't have to rip the dash apart just the trim piece over the hud. You can't damage anything doing it except the trim piece itself. No way could you damage electronics.

the mods wake up the car! if i were to do it again i would go with a hair larger pulley but if you can spare $600 or so you can push the car close to or over 300chp and then you get to listen to the beautiful supercharger anyway IMO we have the best color for the 04+ and i don't mean that just because i have it, when i was looking for a GP i had to have it in our color!! lol

and sorry about the bad news on the HUD but dont worry when you get it and get to use it it will be well worth its trouble!!

Got some great news for everyone!!

The HUD has returned. My uncle had it replaced for me and also had my radiator flushed with new coolant. Also, I had my oil and filter changed with Mobile 1 Synthetic. The only thing is that my plastic HUD panel is cracked even more then orginally since it was so old and sun damaged. My uncle has a new one on order and I shall receive that hopefully in about two weeks

My car after all the miles of driving and the outdoors upstate has made the car filthy with hundreds of bugs on the front bumper and bird crap on the car. But that should all wash off easily after the wax and polish job I did last week.

The only bad news I have is that I scratched my car beyond the clear coat but not to the base of the car. Luckily I have some touch up paint and clear coat. I scratched it from backing out of my cousins awkward driveway and hit his mail box that had a protruding nail. Its not bad and easily fixable but still sucks

I put some Z-max in my car and it is running a bit better. Got the whole kit after the oil change. I noticed a huge change in the transmission shifts. Even after the pan drop and fluid/filter change it still shifted hard. Now the gears shift smoothly even under WOT.

Removed the scratch. Did not even need touch up paint. Used some scratch remover with multiple coats along with wax and its nearly 100% gone.

Yeah man got the write up. Its on this site. Hopefully being a brand new HUD and all, by the time it does break, I will not be the owner of the car in around 4+ years. Keep in mind when the HUD broke, the car had three previous owners and 72K in miles. But you never know, but most likely the HUD will last for awhile.

Christmas is coming before you know it and my birthday comes about a week later and will be getting some updates to my car. I will be getting a Pioneer Double Din Touchscreen with Bluetooth with all necessary adapters, K & N CAI, and Smoked LED tail lights. I will post actual pictures once everything is installed.
