it goes on the street. it WILL break offroad.
that being said, i would rather drive an STI daily. if i wanted to make big power i would get an EVO. regardless, i like both cars.
I never said "good offroad," I said better than the Evo offroad. Messing around in a field or in the snow, I'll take the STi and it's symmetrical AWD over the transfer case design the Evo has.
I'm not talking about hardcore rally racing, doing a serious rally in a stock-suspension car is retarded.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
tell that to all the kids who buy subarus and bomb them down backroads like it was meant to be.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
This is very reminiscent of a few Ford Raptor discussions that have taken place on other sites.

Yeah, getting a little off topic, sorry. Back to Tommy's Evo and how he should guy a turboback exhaust system I think is what we were talking about?

I'm thinking you need to adjust the seat. Sounds like you've got it set up all wrong.

probably do. I'm sure I could sit back farther but I have short legs and it's tough for me to press the clutch pedal all the way down if I sit much further back.

I still don't know what I wanna get. Buschur is nice and close and I could go and pick it up. Probably would get the magnaflow setup as I think their bullet setup would be too loud. I don't want something ear splitting, I gotta be able to stand driving it on the highway every day.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
just to save your ears and help out yourself in the end: dont get anything overly big or loud. you'll hate it for driving around all the time.

I know I don't want anything that loud. My cobalt was pretty quiet until you went WOT, which i really liked. Doesn't help that the cabin isn't very soundproof. Might do some soundproofing on this car to reduce road noise.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
hint: you dont need a 3" catback. seriously.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
Been browsing through exhaust videos. Really liking the Perrin Stealth exhaust
Evo IX Perrin Exhaust and Launcher - YouTube
AMS sounds pretty good as well

Haha You get used to the road noise. Does Borla make a XR-1 CBE for the Evo? I love mine, it's really quiet compared to other exhausts for the STi and sounds awesome under heavy throttle.

ya they do, but I can't find any sound clips of it. Would be nice to hear ahead of time. From a magazine article David Buschur posted up, he said the borla exhaust weighs nearly 38 lbs, where as most of them weigh in the mid 20s. Dunno why it's so heavy.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
because it actually has something in it, unlike all the others that are straight, thin walled pipes.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
Does Buscher still deal with Subarus at all? Every time I drive past there on the way to race/watch races in Norwalk all I see are Evos and DSMs.
The XR-1 is lighter than my stock catback, not by a whole lot but it's still weight reduced. A good portion of the weight probably comes from the muffler being a full size "traditional" muffler, instead of a cylindrical rice-cannon that you can see straight through :D
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
Looks like they do a little bit, but very limited, the only have a small amount of stuff on their website. I gotta try to find an exhaust clip of the borla somewhere, I wanna hear what it sounds like. i was pretty happy with my xr-1 on my cobalt, and the borla catback is only $680, so it's pretty fairly priced.
