gotta admit two hours of highway driving with no cruise control really gives you a sore ankle. Gonna have to get used to this, can't count the number of times I've pressed the end of the blinker stalk to hit the cruise button. Had to get new wipers for it yesterday, one of them broke and put a nice big scratch along the windshield. Dammit. good thing I need to get some chips fixed anyways. The glass is kind of pitted with perminent little white dots I can't get rid of, might just look into a whole windshield.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
i would not buy a car without cruise control...you sir are brave
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
you guys are fvcking lazy :D i dont even use cruise control in the prix.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
i use it all the time every time. keeps me away from tickets...at least for speeding
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
isnt the MR the stripper model?
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
Yea. MR is simply short for Mitsubishi Racing. There was an MR edition of the 3000GT (actually GTO as its called in Japan). It had cloth interior, normal climate control, some got bigger brakes etc.

nice find man! love the look.
you must pay a **** ton on insurance now. i think when i did a quote for an evo and sti, the sti was (and is now) $50 more a month than the grand prix. then the evo was $50 more than the sti. <-- which is why i went with the sti lol damn turbos.

Well grand prixs are pretty cheap for insurance to begin with. My cobalt was over 200 a month in my mom's name, as it's in one of the top insurance catagories, right along with the z06 vette and a few ferrari's due to the nature of it being a turbo fwd car owned mostly by teenagers. In my name it would have been over 250. The evo, being an awd sedan, is actually cheaper on insurance. This car is completely in my name, and the insurance is 193 a month, which is cheaper than the cobalt would have been if it were in my name. So I'm not complaining.

You say that like its a lot of money. Friend of mine just bought a Cummins Ram dually. $50k. Payment is about $850 a month.
Re: And here I thought I couldn't own a car with a bigger spoiler
Nice car man, congrats. 23k though? Damn! Is that considered a decent price for one in your area? If so, I had no idea they were that pricey.

It's about the going price for one of these anywhere, the Evos hold their value really well, and the IXs do more than any of the rest. Any of the ones I've seen that went for less than 21k all had 90k or more miles, and most are modded anyways, I was willing to pay a little more for a stock one.
It's about dead on blue book value for private party in excellent condition, and a little less than bb value from a dealership (where I got mine).
Plus it helps that it's had it's full 60k mile service done already (all belts and fluids replaced, including timing belt) and brand new tires
In the end this is about the best deal I could have found.

Unfortunatley that 6 speed doesn't help on the highway as much as I though. 70 mph is still 3000 rmps :th_angry2: Was hoping it would be more of an overdrive gear but oh well. Not sure why they would make it such a small gear.
