keep me and kyle in mind if you need advise on where to go, but ill be honest with you. pay off the car before you start modding it. if you blow your motor (ringlands like to let loose on these motors too, FYI) it's going to set you back $3500. just keep that in mind.

Heatsheild gone probably means the downpipe has been replaced. Car may have been stage 2 at one point before. As long as there's stock parts on it now and it's running a stock tune (and there's no BOV) you should be okay. I'd still recommend doing a compression/leakdown test.

Change the oil often, seriously. Never before have I seen oil come out of a car so thin as the first time I changed the Amsoil that was in my car when bought it after it had about 4K miles on it. Since I switched to German Castrol (which is discontinued here) the oil has maintained viscosity over 4000 miles. I have an oil sample I've been meaning to send to Blackstone to analyze it, you might want to consider a few UOA's as well, they will give you a snapshot of your motor's health.

Depending on what brand you use some oils shear off in as little as 2000 miles because of how hot it gets from the turbo and the oil filter being right next to the manifolds. Honestly, Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic is a fantastic oil and doesn't cost as much as other synthetics. The Purolator PureONE filter is one of the best filters out there. STis drink Mobil1, stay away from it.

im not modding the motor or getting into tuning until i pay if off. going to work paying it off while i make it look pretty(ier).

I dig the JDM fog lights. Needs projector retrofitted headlights though.

STI already has true HIDs, who cares if they aren't projectors.

You should definitely clear and paint your headlights. Or buy mine. The insides are painted Obsidian Black pearl to match the body color.

dont do all the tacky stickers you see all over the internet. it's seriously played out. the ones i have on my car are fairly classy or original. keep it to local shops, clubs, a couple of off base decals, etc.

dont buy cheap lug nuts, especially aluminum ones.

You don't need a turbo timer. Just don't drive the car like a madman and shut it off while holding it at 5K RPMs and you'll be fine. STis (and most modern turbo cars) use gravity and coolant to slowly cool down your turbo. Once you turn off the car, coolant keeps cycling through your turbo slowly and cools the turbo sufficiently. The coolant does a good job of cooling the turbo and a timer is literally a waste of money.

^well it was just a possibility considering i will be autocrossing the car.
