So gassed up yesterday before work. Got home, changed to go out with my gf for valentines day. Randomly when i was driving down a back road my car dies. No sputtering or anything, "flick of a switch" and everything just died instantly. Tried turning it back on while it cruised onward and wouldn't crank until the third try after throwing it in neutral and it fired back up. Same thing happened later when i was at a stop light. Took the foot off the brake and it died instantly. Then got into my car later that night, shut the door put the key in the ignition and all power seized and my key was stuck in the ignition. I opened the door and closed it, and power came back on the interior lights and i could start it again. It also died when I pumped my gf's gas for her car and my car was idling. As well as when i got home. Turned the car off, power cut, and key was stuck in the ignition. Couldn't get it out unless I opened the door, then shut it again.

I was thinking bad gas at first, since I just filled up prior to all of this happening and it cutting out while i was driving twice. But the other occurrences have me stumped. I'm going to make sure the terminals are tight on the battery when I leave later. Hopefully it doesn't happen again since I'm going up to the Chicago auto show today. Any thoughts?

When it dies do you lose power? Or does the engine just shut off?

I'd always suggest checking the battery related stuff first.

if you are losing lights and power and stuff then it is surely an issue with the battery. Either a bad connection or a bad battery maybe.

has to be bad connection or the cold weather messing with the battery. Just replaced it around this time last year during that -30* weather

Doesn't hurt to have the battery checked out, don't assume because its fairly new that it couldn't be the cause

touche, just re tightened the terminals. Drove fine with no issue. Must've been a fluke. I'll have it test if it happens again.
Was at the Chicago auto show today. Guy with a 490hp GTX was there. A group called The Chicago Garage had a spot on the floor, and this white gtx was to die for.

Odd, my car has been doing the same thing lately. Four times I've been out and and about, trying to turn my car back on annnnnnnd nothing. Key gets locked in the ignition. After a few more tries, the car finally starts out of no where but all accessories reset. We're cursed, Jordan.

I mean, it's nothing we haven't seen before but honestly, I have never seen a cleaner GP. Literally looked brand new. And 490hp on a gen v, mmm.

And the fact it was at the Chicago Auto Show, thought it was nice to see a Grand Prix there ha. Here are some misc pics I took while there. Honestly could've taken like over a hundred but I'd rather not use all that space on my phone.

And threw this in for the shiggles....2400 and still can't beat a stock GTP...waste IMO.

On Facebook the guy said like 490 crank and like 380 something wheel which makes no sense. He got super defensive over it too.
