well, at least this isn't expensive. so i don't feel as bad about neglecting my other build for awhile lol. it's hard though, because those heads are beggng to at least be gasket-matched.

well... heads are coming off. a buddy of mine had a set of 462624 castings he sold me cheap, replacing the 333882's. not that either are all that nice, but hopefully the shop i'm taking it to will clean them up really well and can mill them to increase compression some. then we're gasket-matching them and doing a little more porting. yay for low budget
well, the truck got sold awhile ago. for the two following, you were right (sort of) about it not revving high enough. the guy that bought it told me it had a seperated harmonic balancer, meaning timing wasn't right. he also put a 600cfm carb on it rather than the 650, so now it's running great and winds to 8k. the block and heads were out of a 1974 camaro, and had been rebuilt at some point in it's life. knowing what i sold it to him for... i'm going to puke, eat a gallon of ice cream, and cry myself to sleep.
i was happy with it, i just had to chase an oil leak down to the heads and it wasn't running for months, so my dad got pissed and i sold it to make him quit bithcing at me and for a down payment on a t/c balt that sold the day i sold the truck. pretty bad when i can spend money but i can't spend time
