It's been a while since my last post but unfortunately I recently got a rod knock on my 97gtp it had 208k miles with a 3.4 with supporting mods except a tune. Sometimes I had 5-6 kr at WOT, 2-3 or even 0 at times. I'm just looking for some advice on what to do. I'm not that experienced to do an engine swap myself and selling this car around here is going to be difficult. I'm just looking for advice this was my daily driver. I have two other cars one that I bought recently that was tricked into thinking it was a good car but it started burning oil a week later. The others on non op. Any feedback guys I feel a bit bummed being carless.

It's either swap motors or sell it.

Then try and get the oil burning car to stop burning oil. No idea what it is but it could be simple or it's more internal like piston rings/bad blow by.

San Diego, most gtp's here are ownedb by young single moms or older folks. You don't really see car enthusiasts driving them. So not a lot of people would want to buy a nodded car with a knock. Yeah its a 2000 civic and its most likely the rings. Thing is I don't have a car now that I can use while I fix another.

Don't know if it'll be best to part out the Gtp on 3800 pages and just junk what's left of it.

FWIW... I did not have the experience to do a trans swap...... Until I did one. You may surprise yourself.

i think a compression check on the honda to check for bad rings would be good. if your a dude with 2 hands and at least 8 fingers i bet you could swap the gtp's engine

Yeah it took me 3 days or so to slap on the speed daddy headers and a lot of swearing lol. I really want to keep the Gtp since you don't see many of those spanking other street cars around here. I'm just being a depressed wimp I'll figure something out.
