    All-

Hello, I am new to the Forum and new to owning a Grand Prix. I have purchased a 04 Grand Prix GT - 3800 III that I have been fixing up and I have recently got it in driveable condition. This car was not taken care of by the previous owner, was wrecked in a front end collision with a culvert and alot has been done Shade-Tree style. Recently I have put all new rotors and pads on all the way around and a brand new power steering pump with high preasure hose (new as well). Currently the car runs great and drives at about a 7.9 out of 10 rating. Now that I have power steering and can drive the car there is a noise when I turn left or right that sounds like rubber gloves going from wet to dry (only way I know to describe it). I have jacked up the car and inspected the Rack & P and from what I can see it does not look damaged, warped, or anything else but when the wheels are straight the Steering Wheel is turned slightly left and is this way when driving as well, but there is no dragging, skipping, or shaking like alignment is off and I have taken it all the way to 90 as a test and no issues. I am at a loss for what this noise could be.

The second issue I have is that the Traction Control, ABS, and eBrake lights are all on. The car has good breaking with no slide or stutter or noise from the PS Pump. I have tried hitting the TC button but still will not turn the light on or off. The eBrake DOES work perfect and will release correctly but the light still remains on. I have check all of the relays with a volt meter and all fuses I can find but to no avail.

Any help I can get with either issue as this may be a noob issue I would apprceiate or if this needs to be moved elsewhere I can do so as well.

    Thank you,

a bad wheel hub assembly will set off the abs / TC lights. the wheel speed sensors are built into the hub assembly . could also be just the wire harness that connects into the speed sensor. go to autozone or advanced auto and get them to pull the codes for you . then try unplugging them and cleaning the connectors with electronic cleaner. if that doesn't help check the resistance at the wire harness with a multimeter and if they aren't reading close to the same then you know it's in the harness. if they give a good reading then it's the speed sensor itself and you'll have to replace the hub assembly. here's a helpful video showing you how. CHECK YOUR BRAKE FLUID. make sure it's at the proper level .

if a scan tool won't pull the codes then you're probably looking at a bad ECBM.
