Well I am not new to wbodies, and I come from having owned a regal gs and my old toy was a 00 Z28 camaro with a nice cam in it and some head work that ran mid 11's. The GTP is my daily and just picked up last week.

What's on the car is a 3.4 pulley, and zzp 3" downpipe, with an old old zzp tune. Getting the new zzp 1.0 pcm and getting some other stuff fixed on this beauty. I will get pictures as I go, and I will be seeing if I can swap anyone tail lights, I hate the Altezza's that are on the car and love a good perfect stock set, but can't seem to find any. If you know a good place for tail lights let me know I like to keep my cars looking clean and stock.

75th? Uhhhhhh, considering 02 was a 40th Anniversary you simply have an 01.

EDIT: I stand corrected, sort of. There was a Pontiac75th anniversary edition package, but it was a dealer option and appears it was nothing more than badging and a few appearance mods.

Yeah Pontiac had been around for years, it was a comnenerative deal you could get. I was about to graduate high school when these came out, I was hoping my pops would get the SLP one when they got my moms 2003 gp.

I believe technically its a gtp Special Edition with 75th badging, its not perfect but hey IRS 14 years old.

I know GA's and Formulas got the badging, looks like a dealer might have slapped decals to bump the price.

I only have a couple from the other day after I was able to wash her. I am not a fan of MSD units, last wbody I worked on was an 01 impala with a built bottom end and a t66, the 7/8" chain in the trans broke so we got a 1", this was about 4 years ago or so and the MSD coils sucked.

    Welcome, and nice car.

75th anniversary? I call BS. The GP started in 1962, not 1926. Yours looks like a 40th anny.

Since Pontiac was established in 1926, it's probably PONTIAC 75th anniversary, not GRAND PRIX.

Did a little googling, and you are correct.

Seems GM would do anything to make there cars "special edition". To bad that after all these years they are nothing special at all.

Still looks like an 02 Anniversary to me. "Supercharged" decal on the hood vents. Dark cherry metallic paint/color matched roof rails. Although the silver lower fascia would be color matched.. Hmmm

Looks like a black special edition not a 40th anniversary.

Wow so much for reading haha, YES fellas it is a 2001 Black Special Edition, and in 2001 it was the 75th anniversary of PONTIAC, they had the same badges on some Formulas (if you would like I can explain what a Formula is too if that helps), and GAGT's. Google turns up all kinds of info if you use it, and no BS, it is a Black car, with paint needing some help.

I am getting the Intake done here soon, need to get an S10 PCM tray and clean it up so the pcm is mounted nice and snug. I should edit the title and say Special Edition but heck why not state that the dealership probably threw some 75th anniversary badges on a fully loaded GTP Special Edition and marked up the price.
